veronica ashford was born and raised in seattle, her parents weren’t the most loving so she often has a hard time showing affection herself. veronica fell into the wrong crowd at school and ended up addicted to alcohol throughout her high school years. in her senior year of high school, veronica’s parents sent her to rehab to face her addiction and she got her act cleaned up and still managed to graduated successfully and was accepted into med school. med school was a turning point for veronica though, she vowed to stay on the wagon and she exceeded the expectations of everyone around her when she graduated with excellent results. veronica moved to new york and stayed there throughout her residency and fellowship in general surgery, she never really had many friends and her love life was practically non-existent. several years later, a position came up as the chief of staff at seattle grace mercy west and that’s where she decided to go. it’s home but it’s a far cry from new york and she’s beginning to wonder whether she was right in taking the job but she is determined to see it through. veronica has been spending a lot of her evenings at the bar as of late but hasn’t yet drank.

veronica is very arrogant, she knows she’s great.

veronica has a very flirtatious way about her, this could be why she hasn’t been able to settle down in a relationship as she struggles with commitment. 

veronica’s issues with alcohol have begun to resurface lately due to becoming the chief of surgery.

veronica would love children, but she feels like she has missed her opportunity, she would like to consider adoption at some point but would like to be more stable before she does so.
