Good Omens was published exactly 36 years ago, on 10th May 1990

Today, on 10th May 2026, we can see Aziraphale and Crowley finally end their journey and reach home — their together forever home — as they were always supposed to do.

Mind how you go: spoilers and speculation below the cut.

We can see the same familiar green void and Aziraphale and Crowley reaching their bookshop sticking out of a similarly green expanse of water like a lighthouse. Everything looks like a peaceful snow globe scene.

Since we’re so clearly back to the beginning — as the Book of Revelation teaches and Good Omens Prime Philippines has posted yesterday, “Some endings are only beginnings” — it could be a brand new universe with only Aziraphale and Crowley as its new creators or guardians.

But wait, they’re not alone. Who could be this hooded figure? One thing following them could be Death, since the latter said: “I AM CREATION’S SHADOW. YOU CANNOT DESTROY ME. THAT WOULD DESTROY THE WORLD.” And also because that’d be a hell of a parallel to Death’s appearance at the end of the original novel, at the duck pond.

This entire shot looks like the Story of Creation, with the snow globe like dome separating water from the sky, land appearing from the sea, and the first plant: a teeny-tiny (apple?) tree. The bridge on the left? The same as we saw in the Good Omens 2 opening sequence. Probably also how they ended up there in the first place.

For all of Crowley’s gloominess, there is one thing that can always cheer him up.

Crowley is irritable in Rome, but easily cheered by Aziraphale’s slip of the tongue….

He’s tense and restless about losing the antichrist, yet Aziraphale still manages to make him smile…

Even after their Holy Water fight, Aziraphale manages to break through his walls…

When everything feels pointless, and nothing makes sense, Aziraphale still brings him light…

To truly love is to find joy in someone when everything else feels awful. Even when facing the end of the world, Crowley can’t help but soften in Aziraphale’s company.
