  He didn’t mind the manakete braiding his hair, it was short and she could at least do a small braid, after all it felt nice having people play with his hair even if it was someone he wasn’t extremely close to.

  “Hey Nowi! Can I try braiding your hair too?” The young tactician asked, he wasn’t the best at doing it, but it couldn’t be so hard after all Nowi had very long hair and it couldn’t be too hard to manage, right?

“Of course I am aware of both of those facts,” Miriel affirmed, though she took a moment to scratch something out of her notes with her writing implement. She hadn’t been entirely sure when Morgan’s birthday was, but the mage had made a few educated guesses based on what mentions she remembered of it. “I doubt your favorite food is a factor, but to be safe, I will take note of whatever you care to mention.”

This case study would take ages if she didn’t get to more pertinent information, though. “My main concern is what memories you retain from you past,” Miriel suggested, hoping to lead the conversation toward the intended topic. “From my observations I can conjecture that it may be difficult for you to think back on past events, but anything you can recall will be helpful to record.”

“Well I remember father was way older than he is now and I studied under him like an apprentice!” Morgan furrowed her brows trying her best to remember to no avail. “But everything else is really just a big blur.”

The young tactician let out a sigh and gesture with her hands. She didn’t really know what to say; her memories of her father were clear while the muddy puddle of everything else was intelligible. 

“Is there anything else you’d like to know? Doubt it would be much help.”

“Morgan. May I request a moment of your time?”

It couldn’t be simple coincidence that both Morgan and the young tactician’s parent . Miriel was determined to investigate, of course; this was why she had taken the time to hunt Morgan down and ask for this interview.

“All I intend is to ask a few questions,” the mage continued, glancing down at the open journal in her hand and shifting her glasses, “though if you are busy I can return at a later time. I am at the mercy of your schedule.”

The girl rose an eyebrow surprised at the bespectacled mage, she had wanted to tease a specific brokenhearted philanderer. But she didn’t want to keep Miriel waiting when she was already prepared.

“What kind of questions? Well, you already know my name and my birthday is May fifth. Is it like my favorite food or tactic?”
