I've recently been rediscovering my love for dance-punk, particularly one of my favorite groups, Foals. Here's an oldie but goodie, "Olympic Airways" off of their first LP, Antidotes. This band is a prime example of how to make a highly technical sound seem simple and laid-back. I can't wait until they release a third album. In the meantime, check out a compilation album the band put together of some of their favorite (random) tracks, Tapes. I just picked it up today and am pretty pleased with it.

I've been pretty unchill lately and therefore not posting too much. But now I'm back with a vengeance and hope to be posting some musical gems nearly every day for a while. Here's a tasty jam from "dream pop" indie band Diiv called "Follow" from the album Oshin. I just heard this band recently, and the album is pretty incredible; one of those that you can listen to without a single skip. The band is a project of Beach Fossils member Zachary Cole Smith. You can here a strong resemblance to BF here with a little more edge (but not too much). I highly suggest giving it a whirl.

Here's even more Purity Ring love to get you excited for their upcoming LP Shrines, due out July 24, 2012. The track is "Belispeak" and this is the group's first official music video. It's packed full of the things you probably think of when you here the song: trippy lights, forests, and weird monsters. Maybe that's just me. Enjoy.

Here's a video by one of my favorite groups of the past couple of years, Beach Fossils - "Shallow." The track was released at the end of February as a 7". The video is a compilation of footage from the group's tours (of course in the indie-est of styles). Beach Fossils is already making a lasting mark on indie music; they're just fun. Perfect jam to bring on the summer.

In honor of Manchester City FC's first Premier League title in 44 years, it's only appropriate to congratulate the team and its long-time supporters, the Gallagher brothers. Here is the video for Oasis - "Don't Look Back in Anger." In a funny way, this song kind of sums up the history and fandom of the club. Enjoy.

The official video for Youth Lagoon - "July." It was directed by Tyler T. Williams, who also did the official YL video for "Montana", which is just as intense/amazing as this one. YL's debut album "The Year of Hibernation" was my favorite release from anyone last year and an absolute must-listen. I can't wait to hear what he follows it up with. Oh, and his live shows are pretty dope too.

New video from Blood Orange - "Champagne Coast" off the album of the same name. Blood Orange is the most recent solo project of Devonté Hynes, who formerly recorded as Lightspeed Champion and as a member of dance-punk band Test Icicles. This album is pretty awesome. I think he's on the verge of getting some major love, especially after opening for high-profile acts like Florence + the Machine here in the US.  BO's sound reminds me a lot of an indie, modern-era Prince, so if that doesn't sell you, I don't know what will.

UK indie/math-rock band This Town Needs Guns - "Panda (Acoustic)." This is my favorite band out right now, and in my opinion, some of the most incredible musicians I've listened to. If you don't know them now, you will soon.
