summary: everyone knows not to underestimate the middle-aged spanish man with the happy-go-lucky facade. well, everyone except the arrogant son of a wealthy man who seems to have mistaken you for a mere escort.

a/n: to the enthusiastic alonso anons in my inbox, this has been marinating in the drafts for a long time and it’s nearly as aged as him now

“how much is he paying you?”

“i beg your pardon?”

although you smelled him coming from a mile away, you’re still slightly taken aback when a boy- a guy around your age approaches you with a sleazy smile, his hands in his pockets as he shamelessly checks you out.

you’ve been hanging around men, mostly older ones, so having a guy so young show interest in you makes your skin crawl a lot more especially when he doesn’t seem to know who you are.

or rather, who you belong to.

the boy laughs, his ‘fluffy hair’ bouncing obnoxiously as he takes a step closer to you.

“the guy paying you to be here tonight, darling,” he drawls, even going so far as to lean into your personal space.

you take a step back and rub your nose lightly with a knuckle. he smelled like shit.

there was the ever present combination of sweat, alcohol, and tobacco clinging onto him but it was as if he dunked himself in a bathtub of dior sauvage to try and mask the stench.

you sense your shadows move, itching to jump to your aid but a quick glare from you makes them freeze.

you can handle yourself.

“you’re mistaken. i was invited.”

you glance at the doors, wondering when your 5’7 short king will arrive. he was supposed to be your date tonight but work got in the way so he was running late.

you’re barely paying any attention to the boy who still can’t seem to get it through his thick skull that you’re here at this exclusive event via invitation and not as a plus one.

“no way!”

you sigh.

you don’t want to cause a scene, especially if fernando isn’t around to help you clean up the mess.

“i don’t believe it, show me your invitation!”

you try to walk away but the boy grabs your arm and pulls.

you’re about to signal to your shadows to kick this guy’s ass when a familiar voice sounds out from behind you.

“hands off.”

in an instant, you relax and smirk at the poor boy who straightens up immediately when he spots him. you don’t care that his fingers are still wrapped around your wrist, you already know that he will lose his fingers if he doesn’t let go.

fernando isn’t taller than the boy but he certainly is a lot more intimidating. his arm snakes around your waist possessively as the both of you stare at the boy with matching condescending stares.

slowly, the boy lets go. but his expression is sour.

“she didn’t tell me she already had a date,” the boy says as he shoots you a disapproving look.

fernado raises an eyebrow and glances at you from the corner of his eyes.

ah… you can already sense the lecture coming up.

fernando shrugs, a small smile rests on his lips as he tugs you impossibly closer to his side. he gives the guy a friendly wave, signifying the end on this interaction.

“fucking waste of my time… bitch.”

you scoff at the words that the boy lets out as he stalks off, taking his stench away with him.

good riddance.

beside you, your boyfriend hums. it is not a happy tune and his grip on you tightens just a fraction.

“ask rob. he saw everything, i wasn’t flirting with him.” you quickly defend yourself. you want to clear the air asap.

but it seems like you were wrong. he isn’t mad at you. not at all.

“i know, conejita (bunny),” fernando murmurs, his fingers lightly massage your waist as he fixes his dark gaze somewhere not too far off. “he smells like garbage. your sensitive little nose would hate it.”

okay, that’s true. but why does he look murderous?

“then why are you grinning like that?” you question, brows furrowed in concern as you observed his face.

fernando turns his head, his intense gaze lands on you and you shudder involuntarily.

“did you not hear him? he called you a bitch.” fernando says with that same scary smile. his free hand comes up to stroke your hair, the gesture gentle and loving.

“he’s going to pay for that.”

you close your eyes briefly and allow yourself to soak up the affection. you doubt that the boy knows what he’s gotten himself into.

“break his wrist, baby,” you pout and show him your delicate wrist where the boy had grabbed you earlier. it honestly doesn’t even hurt but you play it up anyways.

fernando eats it up too, loving the way you match his freak perfectly.

“i’ll break all his bones, dear,” the spaniard promises in ardor, bringing your ‘bruised’ wrist up to his lips so he can kiss it better.

“that’s what i like to hear.” your soft giggle dying on the edge of your tongue as fernando claims your lips, branding you as his for everyone to see.
