is the word "chingona" specific to one ethnic group/is it wrong for other latinas to reclaim this word? i am puerto rican and was often told not to be "chingona" by my family but i know the word is not of puerto rican origin, so i do not know if it is okay for me to self-identify this way.
I think everyone can be a chingona! As a Mexican American, I hereby knight you as a chingona si it's official ;)

It's #Women's #Equality Day. "Equality is not a #female issue; itās a #social and #economic #imperative." Women have only been able to vote for almost 100 years in this country. My grandma is 91 and she votes EVERY year. She was born in the U.S. by fate of some strange immigration laws at the time, and although she lived most of her life around and across the border, eventually meeting my grandfather in #Juarez, she reminds us all the time que ella es #Mexico-#Americana y puede #votar. She doesn't take it lightly and neither do I. It's a privilege we have to utilize for #change! If Abuelita knows it's important, we should too. Here's to equality for ALL women, of all colors and backgrounds. May we lift them up and continue to continue to push for their, our, #voices to be heard. Because el #futuro es #mujer. There's #data to prove it. āš¾ā¤ļø

My favorite trips of 2017: #NYC to present my team's research to clients at our Multicultural Marketing Forum and fun with the HOLA fam. #SF when I visited and stayed ā¤ļø Moved back to the #Bay! #Miami to speak at #Hispanicize and host our familia of amazing Latino influencers at #CasaGoogle! #Coachella because Coachella. #Dubai for #brunch and to find the #Alchemist. #Arizona to go deep with my healer and creative guru to cultivate spirit. #Boston for the Forbes #30Under30 Summit. #Argentina for my first big trip post concussion with the United family and my best friend! #LasVegas for Latin Grammys. #Mexico twice for my project with @Popsugar, painting and time with mi #familia. I couldn't travel at all for 25% of the year due to my injury so I felt like I didn't get out much... Turns out I made a few fun stops after all! Didn't include everything and most notably missing the #HOLA summit in #Austin, but could only fit 10! #top10top10top10 Excited for more this year and more grateful than ever for having good health to be able to get out on the road again. I may never live a fully balanced life, but here's to living in extremes while finding balance everywhere we go!
Very cool way to end the year with a bang :) Humbled and honored to be on Latina Style's Top 10 Latina Corporate Executives of the Year List for 2017! The women on this list are incredible. Felicidades, mujeres! This recognition is very special to me because you have to be nominated to be considered, and it means so much to have been nominated by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation. I dedicate this recognition to all of the students and community leaders I've had the opportunity to work with through my partnership with HHF. It's a collaborative effort! From coding programs for kids to a digital marketing fellowship program for students and small businesses, not to mention the amazing summits for Latino and Latina developers. It's all been an incredible learning experience to ideate new ideas and actually put them into action with HHF's partnership and support! One of the criteria for this award is creating community where others can thrive at their best potential. We strive to do that with HHF, and my HOLA familia has helped us every step of the way. HOLA is our own community where I'm blessed to see people I truly care about thrive and grow in their leadership. You are all a part of this! So here's to getting more Latinas in tech onto this list!
