Hi everyone! I’m a non-Indigenous writer working on an alternate-universe speculative fiction project. The core premise of my world is a modern, thriving, socialist federation of sovereign Indigenous states where colonization never overrode the continent. Because I am using real geographic endonyms (like Šaawanwaatoweewe and Saukiog), I want to make sure I am treating these names and open regional histories with absolute care and respect.
