Rose felt awful. She swear she had put her in-ear monitors on her vanity table. Some how they had fallen off and been crushed by someoneâs foot. She made her way to the tech booth, cradling the broken tech with a pout on her lips.Â
âIâm really sorry. Donât even know how they wound up on the floor but are there any spares?â She asked.

During her performance, she may look like she has grace and really good balance but what people donât see are the long, hard hours Rose puts in to learning the dance routines and keeping up the routines. The person who probably knew best that she wasnât all grace was the club doctor, Owen who always seemed to be bandaging her up.Â
âOwen!â Rose called out cheerfully as she limped into the room Owen had set up for the club infirmary. âItâs your favorite singer.â She sing songed as she sat on the table. âAnd Iâm pretty sure Iâve done something to my ankle and right arm this time.â She had twisted her ankle pretty bad when trying to execute a turn and caught herself with her right arm. Both ankle and arm was in some pain but since ankle injuries were more known to the singer she noticed the one that was going along her wrist and elbow more.

Rose leaned against Donnaâs doorway waiting for her turn in handing over her part of the âtipsâ she made from last night. Since that part of her job was under the table and a part of the âand other duties as givenâ description of her job so she thought of it as the taxes portion of that paycheck.
When the performer in front of her left, Rose entered the red headâs office and took a seat. She tossed the envelope onto her desk before sitting back and crossing her legs. âDonna, last night I had to pretend that I was an animal but not just any animal. No, I had to pretend I was various farm animals. Please tell me we can give him to someone else and I can for once have a really attractive male that is really fun in bed but isnât into farm animals or me treating him like an infant like the guy I had last week.â

Donna looked up as Rose walked in. Her mind really wasnât on work so she blinked heavily and stared at the envelope.
She came back around and smiled sympathetically at Rose, âSorry Love. He was loaded and at least he wasnât UGLY. I mean, he wasnât gorgeous, but he wasnât⊠Okay, nevermind. Yeah, heâll go to someone else.â
She cocked her head and gave her a bit of a look, âFARM animals? Really? Was he Scottish?â she waved it off, âYou know, forget it, I donât want to know.â
She sighed, âMen are⊠Well, I donât rightly know,â she looked off in the distance, still distracted by the turn of events⊠Chrisâ return.
âIâll do my best. Promise,â she grinned at her. âNow, in the meantime, you should get a drink and some chips, yeah?â she tried to sound upbeat as she picked up the envelope.
âGood set tonightâŠ. Made me want to join you⊠Almost,â she blushed looking down. She wouldnât saddle Rose with her, unless they needed a pianist of course⊠Or a bassist, but to think she could sing with herâŠWell, forget about it.
Rose laughed. âYeah like cows, sheep and pigs.â She wrinkled her nose at the memory. She considered that night forever locked away and not to be brought up again unless the girls were comparing bad nights.
She noticed something was on her bossâ mind but she didnât want to pry. After all there were more girls needing to hand over their âtipsâ. Maybe it had something to do with Chris. She certainly hadnât not noticed him during her set when he sat down at the bar. She was normally drawn to familiar faces in the crowd since they made her feel more comfortable on stage.
She smiled at her compliment. âYou should! That would be fun. Hop on up and join the band next time. Iâm sure theyâd love it.â

Chris lifted his head slowly as a voice caught his attention.
Rose.
He wasnât sure if this was brilliant or the worst possible scenario. Normally the bubbly blonde was certain to bring a smile to his face. Tonight? Well tonight he was quite certain nothing would.
âHullo, Rose,â he muttered, downing another shot, closing his eyes as it burned itâs way down. âYup, been off for a bit me. How about you? Been keepinâ out of trouble?â
There. He was sociable. He pounded his lager and studied the contents of his glass to avoid looking directly at her.
The last thing he needed was for her to see how upset he really was.
She took a sip of water and reveled in the cool liquid sliding down her throat. She hadnât realized how dry her mouth had gotten up on stage so took another drink. Rose put the lid back on giggling and bumped his shoulder with hers. âOh câmon now Chris, you should know me better than that. When do I ever stay out of trouble?â
Her basket of chips, fruity cocktail, and bottle of vinegar was placed down in front of her. She gave the bartender a smile before sliding the basket more in between them. âYou know I donât think your replacement liked me too much and I treated just like I treat all of the other security members. Now do you wanna a few before I supposedly kill âem?â She asked while shaking the malt vinegar bottle to emphasize just what she meant.
How about giving me yer number? You are something brilliant you are!
How âbout you give me a name first? Or go through the proper channels. A girlâs gotta stay safe after all.

He waved a hand. âTrees are easy to keep. You stick it in thr ground and let it go.â John gave a small shrug, setting the stock down. He reached behind and grabbed a water bottle setting it down in front of Rose.
âAll you have to do it water it⊠not that you have to worry about that too much with the way it rains hereâŠâ
âDrink?â He gestured to the bottles behind him.
âWell you see no matter how easy it may seem to keep a tree, I will find some way to royally fuck it up.â She laughed as she took the bottle of water he offered and carefully filled the cap and poured it over the plant, repeating the action three more times.
âCan I get an old fashioned?â She asked after taking a sip of the water and screwing the cap back on.

Hartâs men might not have thrown him out on his arse like originally instructed, but having a couple of them shadow him wasnât his idea of a good time neither.
He took a seat at the farther, darkest corner of the bar and was eternally grateful to Rory for letting him have a few drinks on credit. He needed them. A lot of the to be honest.
This was not how any of this was supposed to go and now Hart was somewhere with his girl doing god knows what⊠His daughter apparently hated him and if he wanted his job back, that arsehole who was living his bloody life, was going to be his boss. Plus, Hart now had his gang of goons watching his every move,simply itching to toss him out of the club. He was fairly certain he couldnât  bollocks up his life any worse if he tried.
He raked his hand over his face and downed another shot before taking a healthy sip of his lager. He tapped the bar indicating he wanted another one.
And for the record, he was NOT brooding but if he was, one could hardly blame him.

She grabbed the bottle of water that was slid to her and ordered a basket of chips before heading over to where Chris was sitting.
âHey there, Mr. Leather. Long time no see. Itâs good to see ya again.â Rose smiled before taking a sip of her water.

âNow what exactly am I supposed to do with you?â Rose wondered aloud. A patron had given it to her after her set. Needless to say the entire encounter was quite the interesting one.

âTake it home?â John suggested, walking by with an armfull of stock for the bar Normally he wouldnât have cared enough to answer but it was a slow day for him, so why not talk to the pretty blond?
Rose wrinkled her nose. âIâm not exactly known for my green thumb.â She replied following him to the bar and taking a seat. She didnât necessarily care for the bartender, he reminded her too much of her ex, but since he was now her boss, she had started to play nice.
