Really really fuckin into it omg, infodumping constantly to Jonah about various artifacts she’s found and stuff. He’s like super chill about it though and doesn’t complain
Lara’s family is pretty rich and stereotypically posh, so it’s reasonable to assume she got diagnosed early on. Her father probably noticed rather quickly and sent her to a doctor. She was diagnosed with Autism pretty quickly, as she showed obvious signs of it when she was really little.
Took awhile for her father to accept, but he eventually learned to love Lara for who she is.
Lara was lucky in that she got a lot of help from psychologists and thus learned how to cope with meltdowns and stuff pretty quickly
Still, she struggles from time to time. She gets easily overwhelmed with people, so she often tries to find her own space to breath. This is partially why she prefers to go adventuring alone.
Loves the sensory feeling of the outdoors, particularly the crunching of snow, or the smell of blooming flowers in the forest, and the sounds of birds.
Never gave a shit about what people thought of her autism. She was just like “whatever” and moved on. She had more important things to worry about than ableists.
She has auditory stims, like listening to music
When she’s adventuring she’ll stim primarily by rubbing her pants or scratching her skin
But when she’s at home, she has a whole collection of stim toys to play with. Chewies, squishes, you name it and she has it!
Some of the toys are inspired by her archeology adventures, for example one of them is a little squishy shaped like her axe.
Eye contact is something she can do, but when she has the opportunity to not do so she’ll choose not to
Might shock some people given her family’s fame, but she hates crowds. The noise and people are just too much for her. It can cause her to go into sensory overload or even meltdown.
This is partially why she loves exploring, because it allows her to escape from people with the outdoors.
