I thought about it a bit more and maybe "irrelevant" was a bit of an overstatement. Yes, Johnny and Zampanò are definitely wrong and the editors are definitely correct, but you could still connect the verses they picked to their respective characters with some mental gymnastics.

This is Jacob pretending to be Esau to receive Isaac's blessing. Yeah, I guess picking the scene where the blind father is deceived by his son for Zampanò is a fitting choice, but the story has already been explained and the parallel between Isaac and Zampanò has already been well established. This doesn't offer anything that we don't already know.

This is Isaac's blessing. I'm sure there's something you could make out of this. A blessing for a lying son... I'm not smart enough to come up with something more coherent, but I hope you understand what I'm getting at.

The objectively correct answer. The part in the text where this footnote is is literally a direct quote. Here Esau is clearly Navy and Jacob is Tom.

So yeah. IMO there's not much of substance to glean from these, but they're not completely random. It's the usual HoL formula of "You can decide this bit is just funny and not that deep, or you can dig deeper into it and make connections that are so vague that you start to feel like a conspiracy theorist."

i have a "figure out the mystery chemical" assignment in one of my classes and i got this acid with a slight odor. the smell was super familiar, but it was so mild that i couldn't put my finger on it. so, being the genius i am, i heated some up so it would release more vapor and i could smell it properly. it took me like 10 minutes of sniffing it to realize i was inhaling bromine. also i accidentally flicked the pH strip and splashed some of the solution on my face. it's concentrated hydrobromic acid
