It's not easy to write this, but we came to the conclusion that chireplace will be inactive from here on. We had a great time with the members over the years, but for multiple reasons it's time to say goodbye.
Mostly, the tags are getting crosstagged with terms from our dni more and more frequently. Many of these people refuse to stop. Since we can't promise our tags are safe anymore, we think it's better to stop trying to claim them altogether. You all may still use our tags as you see fit but know they're not officially a community tag anymore, and we aren't monitoring them either. We're really sorry, since some of you may feel very attached to these terms and have used them for years. But tags from still active communities are still being monitored, so it's not like this is the end for agere "on this side" for a lack of better term.
Second, there's a lot of people who have bad memories connected to our tags, and while that's totally okay, there's been quite a bit of hate / misinformation spread over the last few years. We don't want current members to be hurt for what others did years ago, only because they are part of the same community... so we hope you understand that we came to this conclusion.
None of this will affect communities with a DNI similar to ours! They're still gonna be active. It'll actually be a little helpful, since over the years there's been some disconnect in the DNI Of these communities and the official DNI on here, mostly thanks to this blog switching mods a lot.
Lastly, while we can't control the actions of any of you, we hope you respect our decision and don't try to recreate a new chire. None of these things are changeable as far as we know (believe us we've tried) and we truly are sad about this. But we've discussed it for weeks and we truly believe this is the right thing to do.
