As requested, here’s the lyrics translation of Zenryoku Fighter/Zenryoku Faitaa. A B-side song from the INTER single. The biggest reason that I love this song as much as I do is because of the lyrics. It’s really such a good song ;~; (more…)

Translation: Music Colosseum Pamphlet – Individual Interviews
This is just the part of the pamphlet where they each individually talked about their thoughts on Kis-My-Ft2, what they hope for/see in the group’s future, and what they think about each of the members. I had previously posted bits of this on my twitter and tumblr, but here’s the final edited/compiled version of all the members. EPISODE-THREE SOUL OF THE BRAVES (more…)
EPISODE-THREE
SOUL OF THE BRAVES
Kitayama Hiromitsu
Even though it’s our 6th year since debut, it still feels like we aren’t completely made yet. There are still many things that make me feel like we still have a long way to go. But even if you work hard by yourself, it won’t help. That’s why I feel that a group is interesting. Although compared to when we first debut, I think we’ve probably become more “broad”. The horizons for various jobs have broadened. Lately, I’ve felt that we’ve surprisingly become more known to the elderly. Even though being a 7 person group may be seen as a big number, when we perform on roller skates, it might be the number that shines the best. That’s what I think. I’ll occasionally watch Hikaru Genji-san’s performance footages, they are really well-balanced. Because I think that roller skates is the best weapon that we’ve received from Johnny-san, I’d like us to remain conscious of that and treasure it. So in that sense too, of course, “7” is an extremely important number. I think that we’d be troubled if any one (member) were to go away.
Senga is “someone who loses” properly. Because he’s actually someone who wants to do cool things, I think he had been conflicted when he got teased. He probably understood that he is on the losing side while interacting with Nakai-san. Ah, it often gets forgotten, but his background is in dancing LOL. Then, even though they are on the same path, Miyata’s is technicality LOL. For example, when he gets laughed at on variety shows, he is well aware of it being “delicious”*. He also has the unique world of anime. It seems that he’s always been the type that likes talking to people. I think that this (entertainment) world suits his nature for sure. For Yokoo-san, it’s interesting that what he’s good at is not connected to the dancing and singing that is intrinsically Johnny’s. Though Yokoo-san has an artisan’s temperament and is like a stubborn old man, but that’s what’s good. I would simply like Fujigaya to be erotic LOL. How his gestures are a bit erotic is just right. It’s probably in his nature. But lately, I can feel that he’s getting a little embarrassed. I’d like to tell him that no matter how old you are, you still need eroticism, so rest assured LOL! Tamamori is an airhead and is natural. No matter what he does, it won’t make you feel displeased. So he’s the type who gets spoiled and squealed at by the girls. I can really understand why he was made center when we debut. Nika is highly skilled at copying what he thinks is good. Right now, he really loves Nakai-san, so even the way he talks is a little similar and the food that he likes is the same. He pretty much has no filter. So isn’t that something really honest and pure. Our members all have really unique personalities, but the fact that we’re able to maintain a fine balance, I think that’s a strength of Kisumai.
This is just what I feel, but arena tour asks for “something concert-like” further. Of course, what we can do can be totally different based on the venue layout. If you had to say it, some gives off the image of it being a show. Because even if you watch from afar, it’s important for it to be visually enjoyable. In arena, it’s important to treasure the proximity with the audience. I’d like to go at it with things that we can’t do in some. This time, because the 7 of us are planning the performance together, I’d like them to look forward to it. Somehow, I like watching the backs of the 6 of them, waving at the audience during concerts. It’s a moment when I’ll think, “Kisumai sure is nice. A group sure is nice.” Because you see, your never be able to get such a view all by yourself. I once again think that the 7 of is will keep on doing this together.
*”Delicious” in this sense is used towards something that is “delicious” or appealing to the camera. Something that can attract attention on TV
For me, other than these 6, there’s no one else I would consider my brothers in arms. While there are times when we’ll be rowdy in the dressing rooms and times when we aren’t, both are good. I’ve been taught by senpais, “Because there are waves in the group, even if you sink, it’s fine to think that those times happen too”. From here on, no matter what happens, we are comrades so we’ll be fine. Our ability to be united when we are away* is amazing. When I glance beside me, the members are lined up naturally. Like, “Alright, let’s go”. I really like that feeling. Now, “away” places have really decreased [for us]; I think that’s due to the growth of the group. Like during concert MC, to continue on talking even when no one is amused. Or when we digress too much. There are times when I feel nostalgic about those times. I liked that it was because we were inexperienced that the 7 of us will stretch out our hands and do our best. But I feel that it was from there that each of our individual personalities came out and we became who we are today.
*Away - as in sports competitions that happen at an away venue and not one’s home field. Metaphor for when they have jobs that they might not be well-versed in/used to
When we had our debut, everything was a first for us. When we were asked to be interesting/fun, Miyata was the first one to come out and say, “I’ll be the otaku!”. I really thought he was amazing. I think that it was tough for Miyata too. We pushed him, “Miyata, do that”. He took on the responsibility by himself; even when his jokes failed, no one followed up for him. We were too inexperienced, so I feel really apologetic towards Miyata. But as that is where we started, I feel grateful. Kento has always done dancing from back then. It’s also interesting to have someone in the group who can do choreography. He was always doing the cool/good looking route, so even though I think that he had wanted to keep doing that, I think that it’s amazing that he looked at the group’s balance and changed. From when Busaiku had their debut, Nika said, “I want to be the mood maker”. As expected, I think that for Nika and Kitayama, Nakai-san’s influence is really big. And then, I think how the “Kisumai is led by Kitayama flow” has been built up is also really interesting. Everyone studies their own thing. How Wataru will take a step back and watch is nice too. During meetings, when the 6 of us get heated and talk without paying attention to the order, Wataru is the one who will say to go back to what we had first been talking about. But when his switch is on, he gets more heated up than anyone else and will be in the front lines LOL. Whether he’s in a good or bad mood, it will show on his face. It’s human-like, and that’s fine isn’t it. He’s been told numerous times, “It’s better to fix that”, but because he can’t fix it, it’s already a charm of his LOL. Tama is sly. He gets forgiven for anything. “That’s very Tama-chan-like”, is very broad. Sometimes I do feel envious but it wouldn’t work for me even if I did it. It’s because that it’s Tama’s personality; it’s nice. When the 7 of us gather and hold concerts, we really shine.
When we do cool performances, we have our manly face on. When on variety shows, we’ll go the stupid route. A look/eyes that will seduce women. When I watch the 6 of them on stage, I think that they really shine. Even during MC, I’ll laugh while watching the monitor, “Kisumai sure is funny”. Because the distance from the audience seating in arenas is close, it’ll be nice to hold a concert that will put it to good use. This time, even though the 7 of us are planning it together, to be honest, I can’t make the set list and stuff. In any case, because my feeling of wanting them to have fun is so strong, this or that is good too. I’ll think that because it’s the 7 of us, anything will work. Rather than any glamorous set, I think that they’ll be more happy with us singing right in front of them. Because we will be able to do that this time.
What gets me the most hyped is the dressing room right before we step on stage. Style my hair until the very last minute, put on accessories that will get me excited, put on sweet scented perfume that I like onto my wrists, take a whiff... Collect myself, “Alright!” and leave the dressing room. When doing the rally calls, I can already hear the fans’ voices. And then, let’s enjoy ourselves with all our might at the venue!
Because everyone in Kisumai is from the same generation, we can talk about the same things. As expected, it's fun. We're able to just be ourselves, we don't need to think about anything, just like friends. While we are coworkers, it's not stiff/formal. If our schedules match, we'll hang out together in private. When we hang out, members' friends will be there too. It feels like your regular everyday. That's why we appear just as we are normally. If I were asked, what is Kisumai's weapon? It'd be how we get to sing cool songs; there might also be how surprisingly, everyone looks younger than their actual age LOL; there's also how we give off the atmosphere of being friends.
There are a lot of things that I like for all 6 of them... Gaya-san feels like everyone's older brother. Even though it has always been like this, whenever Sen-chan, Nika, Tama, and I would be rowdy, he would casually join in with us. Like, "I got it, I got it. Stop it LOL". That's really funny. Kitamitsu is someone who is always thinking. Even when we are playing, he'll be thinking seriously about the concert; he thinks about Kisumai as a whole. I can't help but respect/admire that. How he loves meat is also good. He's really knowledgeable. If Kitamitsu were to release a book about meats, I'd definitely buy it LOL. With Sen-chan, while when we hang out, we don't talk about work stuff. He's very clear about work and private life. I think that's amazing and admire that. There are times when he's thinking things seriously. It's impressive. He really looks after his kouhais too. He's someone who's really fun to hang out with. Tama is of course my close friend. A member of Miyata Friends LOL. The other day, the photo shoot day for this pamphlet... Tama and I were gaming together in the hotel room while having a junk food party. He's someone who I can be myself with. I often go out to eat with Nika. He's diligent so even though we often talk about work, inside his head, he's always thinking about variety (TV/shows). Normally, even when an off-handed joke is made, he'll go, "That will get edited out/won't be used~" LOL. Yokoo-san is not timid towards anything and can express things straightforwardly. I respect that side of him. More so than that being very human of him, he doesn't have a double-face. He acts like himself. Someone who can say things clearly. I'm really envious of that.
Right now, we are planning the concert while everyone gives their opinions. Because this year is an arena tour that we haven't done in a while, I'm looking forward to the close distance with the audience and being able to go to many places. Because the responses for each location is different, the way to get them excited changes too; that is also a charm. I think it'd be nice if that can be properly felt.
This time, the theme for myself personally is, "To not tire the fans". There are stage plays or concerts where 2 hours feels like it's gone by in a flash, but there are also ones where it feels long after 1 hour of the act starting. I've been thinking hard lately about what the difference is between those. I'd like to bring the audience along until the very, very end. That's probably the most important. I think that last year, Kisumai really pulled them along strongly. It was like, keep up with the story that we've created. But because the distance this time is close, I'd like to hear the fans' voices more. It'd be nice if they could keep running together with Kisumai until the very end, with the same warmth, the same steps. Exactly how much all the fans look forward to the day of the concert is of importance. Like, to be able to wear the concert T-shirt openly even, is only the day of the concert right. Penlights too. Because they've gone through the trouble to buy it, I'd like them to wear it, use it, and enjoy themselves to their hearts content.
To me, Kisumai is family, brothers-in-arms, and rivals. I think that if the members become too comfortable with each other, then our growth will stop. When we're fighting on the same field, of course, we'll hold a sense of rivalry. Since right now, the external field that we're fighting in is different for the 7 of us, we'll grow there. And every time we return to Kisumai, the group will become bigger. That's the sense I have. I think that it won't work if just one person works hard. It would be best if all 7 are well-balanced and keep on fighting. I think that if it were Kisumai, we'd be able to do that. Because you see, my members are really amazing!
Kitayama's communication abilities are really high! That's why I think he's really good at MC. Also, being tiny is a weapon too lol. While I don't tend to tease him about that, it's kind of turned into a standard phrase just like Mito Komon (period drama/historical figure). I'll be on the side, "He's still doing it", and laugh while watching lol. Senga-san is a courageous person who can say things clearly. If it's for the good of the members, even if he gets hated, "I'm saying it for you". How he's manly like that is cool. Miyata is the most mature. I always admire and think how his open-mindedness is amazing. If the 6 of us show even a bit of negative emotions, Miyata will cover it up for us. The atmosphere will become peaceful. Because it's not something that one can do even if they wanted to, that's why he's really cool. I admire that. Fujigaya-san has the power to attract people. I think that's probably because he's good at the pushing and pulling when it comes to dealing with people. Even if he had an opinion, if he thinks someone else's opinion is good, he's able to pull back immediately. Tamamori is someone who can make the atmosphere and pace/time around him. Even if it's still Japan, when you go to Okinawa, time feels more relaxed/slow. There's such a feeling, right? He has that kind of unique feeling. And then he can also act, sing, and dance too. He's cool. Oh, he's just perfect! lol. Nika is really good at balancing and has fully grasped his position. All of it had changed after meeting Nakai-san. Because he'll even write (take notes) all over the scripts too. Though if I talk about such things, he'll get mad and say "Why did you say that!" lol. Even though he has the image of being the stupid character, when it comes to work, he's really serious and passionate. In any case, what we all have in common is how we're hard working enthusiasts. Somehow, though I'm speaking like a parent, my children... are really strong, no? lol I can proudly say that nowhere else will you find a gathering of people with such strong personalities.
When you speak of arena tour, while this might just be me personally. I'll remember the times when we back danced for our senpais during our Jr. days, and the "EbiKisu Con" of '08 that we did together with A.B.C-Z. We did it while always competing with each other. If A.B.C-Z was not there, Kisumai might have collapsed. It was fun to have been able to hold concerts together with such a group. I would like to do it again. To Kisumai, I think concerts are "a place that sends us back to our roots". Every time, I'll think that where we are standing right now is because of all the fans who support us and the staff-san behind us. I feel that we must convey those feelings of gratitude. As this time it's an arena tour, we should be able to further return to our roots. Putting in the experience that we've received from doing domes, I think it'd be nice if we can show our growth in the arenas.
