EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT: CHISS HOLIDAY VIBES 01.12.2022-31.12.2022

For the month of December we will celebrate winter holiday vibes with prompts for writers and artists alike!

There will be twelve word prompts and twelve colour palettes for the entire month. You can pick and choose as you like and also combine them.

Rules:

no nsfw preferred for this event please (will not be reblogged!)

triggers etc. should be tagged appropriately and the work be hidden beneath a read-more line with a warning above the read-more line (otherwise will not be reblogged!)

The creations do not have to be Christmas themed. Chissmas just so happened to rhyme. The focus is on any and all holidays and festivities that focus on bringing light into the dark and people together. Religion is irrelevant.

EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT: VANTIVERSARY 11.04.2022-16.04.2022

A very special day is coming up for one of Thrawn fandom's most beloved characters - Eli Vanto!

Since Eli's fifth birthday of his first appearance is rolling around, the Chiss Ascendancy Server has decided to host a Vantiversary fanwork challenge (or rather - celebration?) that will last five days.

Each day has two word prompts and a colour palette that the participants can choose one from. Or more than one. We love a remix. You can also lay down your own personal headcanons/incorrect quotes/etc. on the given topics.

On Super Bowl Sunday, I ended up in the ER. After an exam and a CT scan I was hurriedly discharged by a doctor all but throwing papers at me and hustling me out the door. It was not until a night's sleep that I read the full report and found out I was a cancer patient.

"There is a mass-like circumferential wall thickening of the superior and mid rectum with bulky enlarged perirectal lymph nodes and luminal narrowing concerning for colorectal cancer. The wall thickening measures up to 1.7 cm and the length of the involved bowel measures approximately 10 cm. Bulky and large parirectal lymph nodes measure up to 1.6 by 2.4 cm. Upstream colon is decompressed negative for mechanical bowel obstruction. There is mild diverticulosis of the sigmoid colon without diverticulitis and the remainder of the colon appears normal. There is an enlarged perisacral lymph node anterior to the sacral promontory that measures 0.9 cm in short axis. There is a mildly enlarged retroperitoneal lymph node inferior to the aortic bifurcation that measures 0.9 cm in short axis. Colonoscopy and biopsy needed to confirm."

To be blunt, I have crappy insurance - at 55 and diabetic, I had to take what I could afford. A high deductible and out-of-pocket, out-of-network billing, and a formulary that doesn't cover certain chemo drugs insure that even though I can work from home, I am going to need help. The $25K is meant to cover my out-of-pocket, deductible, and premiums on my insurance, plus medical transportation. If this goes badly, it will also cover my final expenses of hospice (not covered in-network), cremation and burial.

I do not have any living family aside from my 81-year-old mother, who has dementia. I have the backing of my boss, but with salary+commission, I can't count on being able to work and earn the commissions I need to cover my expenses. Any help is appreciated and all is needed as I try to get through this with grace.
