Hello! I was wondering if you could give me some information on the Great Pyrenees? I would like to get one later on as a service/mobility dog and would like to know some basic information on them and if they would be good with cats?

I can’t speak for service dogs, but personally...if you can manage the long challenge of the puppy stage, they grow up loving the other animals in your household. When they are little, they can be very rough and bite-y, so you have to monitor them when with other pets or they could hurt them. I’ve heard of puppies killing livestock(accidentally of course), because they tried to play with them.

The cat Chloe grew up with she is bonded with, and still tries to play with him, but she knows not to go too far. Our newer cat, whom she didn’t grow up with, hisses at her so she learned to give her space. Unless Chloe is feeling super bold and rowdy, then she pounces in front of the cats like a dork. Anyway, Great Pyrenees can be quite wary of strangers, so I’d do some research! :)
