josiegarrett:
“Maybe you should’ve punched me harder. I mean, I’m sitting here getting all worked up over good dick. Like, what the fuck? When did I become that annoying, dumb bitch?” she shook her head, the thought suddenly pissing her off more than it logically should’ve. She had a right to be angry. Most of Josie’s life had been fueled by anger, though, and she wasn’t sure if that’s what she wanted anymore. With a sigh, she glanced over at Chloe and really took her words into consideration. With this instance, she couldn’t help but feel that Chloe was right about everything. “My brother could probably get us weed,” she thought out loud, considering James’s connections. “I’m not really sure if I’m talking to him yet, but here I am,” she gestured between the two of them, “so who the fuck knows what’ll happen. We’re not going near Joshua, though, he sells oregano and I’m genuinely surprised he hasn’t been in a targeted gang attack because of it.” Josie wasn’t totally stupid, so she knew that school was obviously a sensitive topic. Still, she wasn’t sure if it was just the alcohol or natural impulse, but she reached over to push a piece of Chloe’s hair out of her face and left her hand resting against her cheek. “It’s okay to be sad about it, Chlo. Not that you need a masters or anything. It’s a shit ton of money and you’re already the smartest person I know, but still.” She finally dropped her hand as her gaze remained fixed on her friend. “Do you wanna slap me or something? It might make you feel better.”
“Maybe you’re getting soft. Happens to all of us,” Chloe shrugged. “I mean, fuck, I’ve definitely gone a little crazy over a good lay before. If you’re dickmatised, there’s not much you can do about it but find someone else’s to bounce on. Shouldn’t be too hard. We can just hit the clubs and make out on the dance floor, the horny fuckers will come running.” It was hard to take Josies relationship problems seriously when she wasn’t sure either of them had ever had anything close to a functioning relationship. Chloe wasn’t qualified to give advice, even if she thought this was an actual problem. As far as Chloe was concerned, Justin had done her a favour. “I could always ask him,” she gave a nonchalant shrug, unlocking her phone and firing a quick text to James. “It’s probably for the best he isn’t. He wouldn’t shut up about it if he was. Probably think he was the next big Gangsta in town. As if he’s not enough of an embarrassment.” Chloe froze for a moment, staying perfectly still at Josie’s touch. “I’m not sad.” She insisted, finally leaning back to break the contact. “I’m angry. Not mad enough to slap you, though. It’s just... annoying.” She shrugged again. “It’s whatever. Want to order Chinese?”
