     it’s so sudden, hearing this from him of all people. he thought that much of her? she had no idea.. sure, she got complimented often but none of it mattered to her much. but from someone she held so close to her heart, it meant the universe. 

     ino quickly shook her head, reaching across the table to grab one of his hands to squeeze it in her own. hoping it would reassure him that no mistake was made.

     ❝ n - no, please. ❞ the blonde manages to stutter out, lips pulled into the softest of smiles. ❝ don’t feel bad for being so sweet, as well as wise.. ❞

His hand almost jolted up as Ino went to squeeze his hand. He wasn’t... surprised per say, but it did give him a slight spook. Chouji never expected such an action from Ino. He must have really impacted her. 

Face redder than his cheek swirls, he turned back towards the other. “Oh.. O-Okay... Wait wise..? I thought it was something that everyone knew. Basic knowledge if you will..” 

He felt a little closer to Ino. It was a true bonding moment. He usually wasn’t this nervous around others though. The brunette was a big confused but shrugged it off because this was great team bonding moment.

With a nod, his face also turned a light pink. He hadn’t meant to say it out loud, but was glad he did none the less. His eyes almost slits looking at the table expressed his shyness about it. Clearing his throat he looked back up to the blonde. 

“I’m glad it means so much to you. I know people tell you how gorgeous you are, how pretty, so on and so forth...” he gulped, “But I thought you needed to hear that from someone you know well... And well.. You are cute. And you are so beautiful, especially on the inside. Outer beauty can only do so much when you are ugly inside.”  

He could feel the slight trickle of nervous sweat fall down his temple to his chin. Pulling at his collar he looked away, his cheeks an even brighter pink than before. “S-Sorry, I probably shouldn’t have said that.” ... Should have left my mouth shut, he thought.
