i'm gonna be mean and say idgaf if you hate aeon or that you got personal problems you project onto those pixels it's just weird ™ that every other post of yours you got tagged as ada is just shady. nobody's forcing you to like those polygons tgt, but it's the way you don't and ship both of them with canonically abusive people that's very much eyebrow raising
oh, hi. honestly, I didn't want to waste my time answering this ask since it's a weekend and I came from a hectic work week, but since I've gotten a similar message on my strawpage a few months ago, I'll humor you and go all out with your concerns, since you (and maybe a few people) clearly stalk my posts and/or actually spend time to check if there's anything about me that's problematic. afterwards, I'll be ignoring/blocking any asks similar to this in the future.
"i'm gonna be mean and say idgaf if you hate aeon or that you got personal problems you project onto those pixels it's just weird ™ that every other post of yours you got tagged as ada is just shady."
first off, thank you for being honest and giving me a heads up that you're gonna be mean; better than those who mask their intent in a passive aggressive tone.
here's a link of my blog posts with # ada wong. here's my posts with the word ada. you guys can check it out.
after reviewing my posts, I genuinely do not understand where exactly is this "shade" you speak of. but okay, let's revisit some of my posts that you might have found an issue with.
(1) - I mentioned that while I dislike the ship, leon & ada's complicated relationship in the remake is something I find interesting to analyze. in addition to that, I praised the fact that ada feels more human in this rendition. I say this positively.
(2) - let me rephrase my last sentence: it's painfully funny (for a lack of better term) that luis' backstory had more detail and clarity than ada's, and if there's any shade in here, it's me taking a jab towards the writers of resident evil. as much as I like the franchise, I do not like the way they write most of their stories. I criticize their way of writing women any chance I get.
(3) - I'm putting this here in case you got offended that ada exploded in my run of mercenaries. I'm sorry, it's a skill issue.
(4)(5) - I wonder: are you bothered that I said ada manipulated/betrayed leon in RE2R? isn't this a fact? that's her job as a merc, isn't it? not acknowledging her actions dumbs down her entire personality/character.
(6) - the relationship chart discussion is literally just me explaining the Japanese term called 腐れ縁 (kusare-en/rotting ties) and how I find it interesting that they used it to describe leon & ada's relation. if you didn't know, I study the language because I'm half-Japanese, and it's a way for me to connect with my other culture.
"nobody's forcing you to like those polygons tgt, but it's the way you don't and ship both of them with canonically abusive people that's very much eyebrow raising"
let me get the last part of your message out of the way first.
I ship both of them with canonically abusive people?
I don't actually ship ada with any character. the closest I could pair her with is luis and claire, for fun. are you referring to this SOLE reblog I made of wesker and ada? I just said that their interactions are amusing because clearly they had something going on (not necessarily romantic; it's probably beef), and I view them both as cats who would fight each other because they're both sassy. I think ada would ragebait wesker because she doesn't always play by his rules, and that’d be hilarious. how is that shipping?
as for leon, are you talking about my interest in metaltango? like leon & ada, I also just find their angst compelling; even more so than the former. the fact that the leon we see right now is krauser's legacy, the way krauser is leon's shadow in a narrative standpoint, and how leon's lips quivered after he dealt the finishing blow to his former mentor, whom he shared mutual respect and bond with.
what is the problem?
"it's the way I don't?"
what do you mean by this? I thought I made it utterly clear - and I am fully transparent about this, and I said this over and over again - that the reason I dislike aeon is due to my OWN personal reasons only I could TRULY understand.
I acknowledge that it might be odd in your perspective. I won't force you to accept it. but you have to understand that trauma works weirdly and differently for each individual. believe it or not, some people do develop an aversion to harmless things (like for example: a fruit, an animal, a character, a specific place, a specific object) due to their trauma, and I don't judge them for that. just recently, an actress said that she has an aversion to meatballs because she once choked on it as a child. my friend doesn't like a popular character because it reminds them of an ex-friend. as for me, I don’t like the ship because it inadvertently made me remember bad memories.
so now that I've explained it as thoroughly as I can, even going so far as to cite my own posts and give you links... what more do you want, anon? do you want me to talk more about my irl trauma in great detail? do you want me to explain how playing leon's campaign triggered emotions I've subconsciously suppressed? do you want me to make a trauma dump podcast to make you understand that? do you want me to acknowledge that I'm depressed and I need help?
and moreover, why are you so bothered and pressed about me - a complete nobody, an outcast - disliking a ship you seem to support? you reiterate that you don't give a damn if I dislike aeon, but you clearly do. can you please leave me alone now?
and oh yeah, before I forget: thanks for sending me this ask two times, it seems like you really wanted me to reply. I'll give you ample time to read this post before I block you. please, do something more productive than fixating over the fact that a nobody like me doesn't like your ship.
