Hi! I made this blog bc I felt nostalgic and dug up one of my childhood manga, ChocoMimi. I noticed there didn't seem to be full volumes posted online in English, so I decided to post vol 2-4 in English since I have the physical copies! (I don't have vol 1) Also I don't know how to scan so forgive me for the simple photos of pages!

What is ChocoMimi? ChocoMimi is a shoujo manga by Konami Sonoda from the early 2000's about fashionable best friends Choco and Mimi as well as their cast of friends.

I don't expect a lot of people to care or be into this, but I just don't want this to turn into lost media. I think it's a very underrated piece of "girly" childhood media that I wish was more well known. And it's a shame most of the later volumes aren't online and translated (due to the unfortunate death of the mangaka back in 2019)

But I hope this will reach some people who may have liked this manga or haven't heard of it before!

Hi guys happy new year! A mini update, I'm sorry but this isn't a guarantee that the blog is back. I just decided to check after so long. I'm busy with life so I never focus too much on this blog. If there's a demand for more chocomimi I might come around more consistently! Anyway I hope you're having a good new year so far!

Updates and Stuff

Again apologies that I took a long break once again, life just distracts me sometimes. I will try to post again on Thursday if i have time.

Anyway I've honestly been thinking of maybe making a YouTube video about Chocomimi bc to my knowledge I've never seen anyone do it ? But it would take some time bc I've never made a video before and it would take some research.

Also, i actually do art completely unrelated to Chocomimi on the main. So that's one reason why I'm not as focused on this blog. Maybe I can draw some Chocomimi art sometime!

im slowly getting into chocomimi, ive already read the first 2 volumes, where can i find the rest ? whys chocomimi so scarce and hard to find ? howd it become lost media ?

Sorry for the very late reply, but I honestly don't know the answer myself. I just know that likely is it just an obscure manga. Maybe it would've been more popular if it got an anime adaptation, but it only received a live action show that is even less known in the west (maybe even unpopular in Japan as well).

Sadly many of the later volumes of the manga were never translated. It could be bc of the mangaka's passing in 2019, or other reasons. I'm just doing my best to preserve the media that I do have , even if I'm taking a while.

I've been researching a bit and as you know i don't have vol 5 but it was apparently the last volume to be translated. Though I found it on internet archives but you need an account to access it. I think I will try to make an account later (if it's free). If that works out maybe I can repost them here later on.

It's kinda unfortunate I'm going about this out of order since I never owned vol 1. And I can't find any archives of vol 1 online. If you have any information please let me know!

Or if you own volume 1, it would mean the world if you could share scans or photos! Though i know its a lot to ask.

Chocomimi is a really adorable and cartoony look into Gyaru-esque fashion in the late 2000s and tbh this manga gave me a love for designing clothes and characters who liked fashion

I do use Twitter on other accounts but I'm aware it's very ...bad to say the least, in recent years. I kinda would like to spread the word about this silly little 2000s girly fashion manga but I have no idea how to go about it.

Of course!! I'm so glad people are getting to read it and be invested in the series! I started this blog bc it's my favorite childhood manga and it's sad that it wasn't archived in English anywhere. It's so obscure I never even heard any content creators who focus on girly nostalgic media ever mention it.

Though I'm sorry i can only provide Vol 2-4, but I try my best

Maybe one day we can get full translations of further volumes but I won't bet on it
