…Palpatine’s office is a womb right? Its where Sidious’ perfect apprentice is developed. He’s nurtured in this space by Palpatine until he Anakin leaves it reborn Vader.

Like there’s really so much to say about Palpatine and yonic symbolism.

He’s also almost an anti-mother. With Anakin only knowing a mother’s love, and both of his major conflicts being about saving his mother and the mother of his children, Palpatine is a perversion of both. With Palpatine eventually replacing both Shmi and Padmé. Initially taking a nurturing role throughout his conflict over his mother, and eventually becoming the person Vader is most dedicated to through his conflict over Padmé.

Shmi’s child (Anakin) dies and is reborn Darth Vader. Idk it’s just paired with the raw bloody entrance like outfit we wears. They’re in this red organ like office and Vader is being born through Sidious. Its almost a gory birth scene.

Then there’s like the inverse of Anakin with his mother happening in this scene. With Palpatine arriving on time.

So I've seen the post going around that's kind of like "kids should be able to read whatever they want and not have their choices censored by adults" and I largely agree with one caveat which is that children need to be able to opt in. I remember being 12 and sneaking some dirty books, and being interested and excited to read a book with something more sexy in it, and no one died, and everything was fine, and I was not forever scarred. However I do remember being shown a a horror film at seven by a babysitter and not being able to sleep for three weeks, and if I'd known how scary the movie was I wouldn't have wanted to watch it.

Kids can usually know what they can handle. Kids cover their eyes at scary points in films, kids read past stuff they aren't ready for. But it is good to be clear like "Oh that book might have some scary parts you might not like, are you sure you want to get that one?" Or "Oh this book has some grown up things in them that you might have a hard time understanding, I want to check that your okay with that." Like give kids the warnings and options and they will probably make a safe and informed decision. It doesn't have to be either or.

I also think kids should be allowed to be wrong about what they can handle without getting in trouble for it. They should be able to go to the adults in their life and ask for help processing what they saw or read without fear of judgement or punishment.

Eragon is my favorite protagonist because he's immediately shown to be a caretaker. He risks his life to give his family food during the winter. He worries over his family constantly. He learns how to care for his baby dragon knowing it risks his life.

He fights to avenge his family, even if he hates to do so. He dreams of a better future, knowing that he may very well not be in it. Even when Eragon indulges in the glory of his skills and battle prowess, he always eventually ends up healing a baby or planning the reconstruction of a near extinct species.

Caring for others is just what Eragon does, no strings attatched. It's nice to have a protagonist like this every now and then. Young and dumb at times, but so incredibly caring you can't help but want him to succeed.

i especially love how the main series takes this and says that, yes, eragon was changed irrevocably by becoming a rider and fighting in a war and experiencing so much pain and trauma and death, but that caretaking is still there, and it’s the most important part of building the future

I agree, never give your info in a call you didn't initiate. Phone numbers can be spoofed. They may actually sound like your bank or credit card company.

If you receive a call, hang up and call back using the phone number on their website. Explain that you received a call about X and if it's legit, they'll be able to tell you so. They're also not usually going to get mad if you say "I'm going to hang up and call you back." Scams will though. Because you won't be calling THEM back, you'll be alerting the bank someone is committing fraud in their name. So they'll get urgent about it. Ignore them and hang up. Call back on an actual line.

in the big finish audio the suffering (2010) the villain is a ghost who can create mind links with women who come in contact with a fragment of her skull because she can sense "female energy." (???) despite this, the plot hinges on the fact that steven is also tapped into this mind link even though he's, you know, a dude. the reason why steven is the only male who was able to do this is never explained beyond "well you were holding the skull" even though the whole point was that dozens of men had touched the skull already and it only awoke the ghost thing because vicki (female) touched it. i really don't think they thought through what this implies about steven
