For most people, being thrust into Hive City had to be disorienting.
Disorienting. Troublesome. Terrifying. Disheartening. Tsubasa could think of a handful of words that could describe others' reactions to coming to this place. She listed them off silently in her head as she made her way through the crumbling ruins of some lost library she'd found herself in. Well, at the very least, it would make for good reading. She could find something to study here. At the very least, she would have some semblance of structure here.
Of course, there were troubling things for Tsubasa to think about too. How could there not be? Without a school to attend - without a stated set of rules to operate by - Tsubasa would have to find something to replace it. She'd seen other people in this city that were school-aged. Maybe they had a school? Or at the very least, she could perhaps start a study group. The fact of the matter was that Tsubasa needed something like that. She could take care of herself easily enough. Cook. Clean. Keep track of money. Yes, all of those things she could do easily enough. She was Tsubasa Hanekawa, after all. Responsible intelligent class representative Tsubasa Hanekawa.
Sunlight. For a brief moment, Tsubasa lifted her head to gaze at the sky. She'd made her way from the ruins of a massive library and into an area filled with shops. This was good and bad. On one hand, she needed to buy supplies to stock that place she'd been given - she hesitated to call it a home. It didn't feel like a home. It didn't allow her to relax. It didn't hold any of the things that made it a home. Therefore, it couldn't be a home. On the other hand, she lacked a large income of money. Without that income, she would be able to cover only the barest of necessities. At least she didn't need much.
It was with these thoughts that she noticed a wallet laying on the ground.
For some, this would be a windfall. A source of money. Perhaps not their own, but money that could be used to further their own life. But Tsubasa picked it up before glancing around her. Ah. There was someone who looked like they were searching for a missing object. A lost wallet. A person looking for a lost item. Two and two together. Following the formula led to the obvious conclusion.
"Pardon me. Is this your's? I only found it a moment ago and it seemed as if you had lost something." A gentle smile. To some, it might have seemed as if Tsubasa Hanekawa was doing this out of the goodness of her heart. Indeed, it looked that way from her smile and gentle tone. But this was merely a following of the rules. An abiding of the law. The right thing to do according to the way the world worked. "It's your's, isn't it?" It had to be. That was what made sense.
