i studied korean this morning to be prepared for the next class (pls excuse my ugly handwriting haha)

i changed the prints on my wall a few weeks ago and i absolutely love this layout so much!

i need to write a protocol for my field internship (geländepratikum in german lol) next week but i think it is not too much work :)

studyblr, studygram, and overpriced stationery: a small psa

it's no surprise the studyblr/studygram community is obsessed with cute stationery. who wouldn't like to decorate their planner with some washi tape and a pack of stickers? unfortunately, many popular stationery "stores" out there take advantage of this fact, and resell things from inexpensive vendors (like those on aliexpress) for steep profit.

here's a small example: kawaiipenshop (a popular stationery store) is selling these stickers at a retail price of nearly 7 dollars, while the same stickers are on aliexpress for just 80 cents.

another example -- this pack of stickers on etsy (which, btw, explicitly prohibits reselling in their policy) vs the same stickers on aliexpress:

a pack of stickers is a small thing, but small purchases do add up, especially in the studyblr/studygram community where large stationery collections and hauls are popular.

if a stationery store seems too good to be true (e.g. if it sells a variety of products that don't appear to be made by a single person or manufacturer), or if a pack of stickers or a roll of washi tape seems way too expensive for what it's worth, then it probably is. do your own research before spending money on stationery, and please don't let yourself be exploited.

to the studyblrs/studygrams that advertise for stationery stores with affiliate codes: don't let yourself become part of the problem. many of these resellers outcompete the more honest stores because they aren't afraid to take advantage of other people and they do the absolute bare minimum for profit. this makes it really hard for actual hardworking artists to promote their own products. again, do your own research before accepting advertising offers from stationery stores, especially if they seem too good to be true.

200902, 12:52. hi, how have you all been? i know the answer is not great, to be honest. me too. the world seems like it’s on fire & we know there’s a way to put it out, but we don’t have access to the water. but we have to persevere, especially now, especially for those who come after us.

anyhow, semester 3 started! how come its alr a year since i started uni? it really flies so fast. i feel like i’ve grown more in the 6 months of 2020, since PSBB/lockdown started, and i rlly think it’s because i’ve been doing so much inquiry into myself and the mechanics of how i function. ofc that’s a privilege. but i’m really grateful for that nonetheless. currently im drinking a modified, fuss-free version (made by yours truly) of dalgona coffee and treating myself with a polo bun from my favorite cafe near my house. it really is the simple things. my notes here r from the copywriting workshop i was in with my youth org, & below are my digital systems notes!!! this semester the courses are very much so druly delving in the basic fundamentals of compsci, so i’m really excited aaaaa. i really, really cant wait.

it’s been a long while since i posted here, what’s up? i am now a university student! even though we’re all studying from home, i’m glad that i can make new friends.

my second semester starts on monday, and while i’m disappointed that i won’t be able to attend classes in person, i’m very excited for my philosophy of religion module. i’m getting a head start by reading and annotating the class notes and reviewing previous epistemology notes on religion.
