Nat arrives in Singapore!! Things come to a head!
Attend Nat's conference panel discussion, then head for lunch along the river 🍛
Make dumplings for dinner with Qiu (and sleepover at their place) 🥟
Watch a Malay horror movie and have dinner with Shay (and sleepover) 👻

Commit to your RO of choice + some rejections (though the full suite of consequences for your actions will come over the next 2 days)

With the public release of this new chapter we’re continuing with the Crown's development as a monarch, while romance and courtly intrigue build further:
Friendship scenes to deepen your Crown's relationship with the other characters outside of your main love interest
Diverging paths depending on whether you chose to meet the peri trader in disguise, or arrange a meeting with Kham instead
Within those diverging paths, you will make further decisions on how to handle the peri trader and/or Kham, with big consequences for future chapters
Romance specific scenes, of course, with your chosen love interest!
A and R both have very different scenes for their high romance and low romance routes! D and X romancers are in the clear... for now

For those that are unfamiliar with the game
A Tale of Crowns is a high fantasy romance story, told in the form of a text-based interactive novel with choice mechanics. The setting is inspired by Kurdish culture as well as other historical settings in the Middle East such as Ancient Persia, but it also draws heavily from other cultures and countries in the region.
Your character is native to Arsur, a vast empire overseen by a single ruler known as the Crown. Unlike traditional monarchies, however, the title is not inherited through blood. Whenever the Crown dies, their famed golden eyes pass on to the one chosen by the Spirits of this world to be the new Crown. In this story, your MC takes on that role.
There are four different love interests to choose from, whose genders will be customized to suit the preferences of your Crown. You can find more info about them on the blog page!
Also note that this current version of the game is safe for those 16 years and older.

changes to relationship stats have been made: once you choose 5 [♡] romance options, the code will recognize it as you choosing a romance path and will allow for different flavour text and the ROs initiating romantic moments since interest has been made clear
that doesn't mean that you're locked out of other routes!
choosing 3 [♡] options during the poly route between jax, orla and merc, now means that you're interested in pursuing that route as well
hidden stats keep track of bold and shy romantic options. choosing one or the other 3 different times throughout a single route means you'll have flavour text that recognizes the merc's personality while perusing that RO
the relationship stats visible refer to the general closeness of the merc and a certain RO and will come into play later
scenes change depending on the disturbed/sane and merciful/ruthless stats throughout the chapter
the prosthetics options are now available without choosing to have a hand prosthetic and the code has been overhauled in the prologue and throughout the other chapters
a new choice and text has appeared in the prologue where you now decide on chest details of your merc
a new stat has been implemented - obedient/defiant to keep track of how merc operates while on jobs with clear orders
all saves are broken! please start a new game as a lot of the code has changed

Please read this post before playing! It's finally here! After five months of writing and rewriting and salvaging and crying and sweating and bleeding I finally finished sort of kind of! Firstly, I want to thank you for your patience and understanding over this duration of this rewrite. It was stressful at times but I'm happy with the end result and I hope everyone else will be too :)
This will be the last chapter I release without beta testers/other sets of eyes so expect errors. I can playtest until my fingers turn blue but I'm just one person </3 I'm bound to have missed stuff.

PROLOGUE - CHAPTER 2 CHANGES:

expanded some scenes and added some more choices
you can now choose that your mc has "changed" in some way (drinking, no longer drinking, partier, no longer a partier, negative, positive, attached, detached, or a general default. I was asked to add an MC who "gets around" or hookups a lot but I'm still debating on whether I'll add that since there's already quite a bit lolol)
you can choose to have changed your band's genre before/after seven
TECHNICAL CHANGES:
you will be able to explicitly state your sexuality in the beginning. this was a big ask and I apologize for not doing it earlier! I wasn't good at coding when I started and I knew I always wanted to make the genders separate from MC's sexuality but I didn't know how to do that at the start :) So you can still choose the genders of the ROs for story purposes and variety. IF YOU DO NOT SEE ROMANCE OPTIONS THAT IS NOT A BUG. You simply chose a RO gender that doesn't correlate with the sexuality you chose for your MC. Having said that, if you do see a romance option available and it's not supposed to be there please let me know! That means I may have missed it coding-wise.
the stats have been all fixed! I've added all the necessary variables and such. The stat portion of the game has been updated with the appropriate pages but they're not finished. Still, the stats should be fine.
You will now have confessionals in the stat page! The feature still isn't a thing yet because I haven't come up with the confessionals lolol but you can click on it to see what it's about. Essentially, as you progress through the story you will be able to see confessionals from the cast of Infamous throughout. They disappear and appear periodically so if you miss it, THAT'S IT! You won't get a chance to see them again until MC watches an episode where it's relevant.
There is now a: Discography page, Infamous wiki, botb cast and staff page, and other characters page for organization. Those are not finished but they're there!
I changed a few stat names but their functions remain the same.
You will be able to choose how you would like to be described (masculine, feminine, neither, both).
O is officially gender-selectable.
You can set the genders of the ROs at the start or wait till you meet them.

Hi Hello. Yes, I know. :< I went dark again! This time it was because I ended up changing more last minute and didn't want to moan on about the excuses so I hunched away to work on it in silence. :> I think I've made it clear through my actions that I am not a social media person so I tend to neglect the 502 Tumblr when I write. Sorry :< A lot happened in my life since posting the pilot but I did say I would never abandon 502 and I meant it. I struggled with my work/life balance since starting an IF (it's a lot of work) but I'm glad I'm here to I can update the demo now!
What to expect:

Some things to take note of:
The news anchor route is not available. I didn't like the direction I was taking it and haven't figured out what I want to do with it. It's not gone permanently but this update it'll be blocked off :<
Stats are still not updating. I ended up changing them multiple times and realized I wanted to wait another update to figure out what stats I want to focus on. The story gives me many directions to go on when it comes to stats and I want to make sure I hone in on the stats that will apply the most of MC's story. The stats are there so you won't get any errors but they won't move or anything and they'll most likely change.
There may be some inconsistencies, typos, errors or things that don't match. The product of writing half the chapter over nine months ago and going through many changes. :< Please let me know if you find errors. You 100% will in a 100k chapter.
