what is up with the age headcanons for unnamed prussian officer... and even more annoying headcanoning him as blüchers grandson? it's just not possible like it literally isn't possible from a historic standpoint. at age 70, blücher's children are in their late to mid 30s. people generally headcanon karl (prussian officer) to be mid 20s from what i've seen and it's not an outrageous age but he is too old to be a grandchild to blücher. i don't want to assume gnb fans don't know this maybe they just don't care?

but the headcanon just leads to people bashing karlblücher because karl is "too young" despite him NOT having a canonical age. and this is separate to the people who hate rpf. it's just so unfair to hear people mention age gaps as if karl has to be under 30?

i'v read through a few articles about the military ranks of the prussian army and the other nations involved in the napoleonic wars and while not all of them go into the average ages in different ranks and regiments there seems to be a general consensus that soldiers (particularly in prussia) tended to be on the older side because from the late 18th century youth isn't what the military sought out, they wanted more experienced and mature men. lots of the soldiers were over 30. in the prussian army, although pretty rare, there were even soldiers who exceeded the 50 age mark. (Blücher himself! was an old old man but he had a lot of energy. he's one of these few exceptions). new recruits DID fall between ages 20-25, though.

so, i can't really wrap my head around this youthful image of karl. especially since i enjoy karlblücher, i lean into a much older karl. that age being 40 (the same age as blüchers wife at the time lol). there really isn't much to work off of with gnb npcs which is what irks me with this insistence that karlblücher is some sort of terrible ship ? and sure there is still a dramatic age gap even if you place karl at age 40, but they are both very much grown men. not to mention it is the 19th century. them being involved with men is more outrageous than them being 30 years apart. i think they'll live.

the family relation headcanon just fly's over my head no matter what way people try and cut it. having that karl's only moments in the game are near his feldmarshall i like to imagine his a higher ranking officer and blücher's aide-de-campe (there was a reddit thread that also brought this up as a possibility).

i hope i'm not alone in this and or i don't sound super crazy.

these minecraft args are great but the line between the player and the minecraft world/ entity ? persona? gets blurry in a really confusing way that sort of break immersion in the story. because the entities like. affect the real world? sometimes? it's hard to take seriously because you always just ask yourself. why don't they shut off the laptop. the obvious answer being that they can't because the story requires it.

dawtde did a pretty cool take on that though!! derek being literally unable to look away from his screen. but other stories haven't wow'd me. i also don't see people mentioning how a large majority of these "args"... aren't... args. really.

they all follow this weird same format that's become a trend . it's... alright .

the present shipping war upsets me. it quite literally follows the structure of real war... both sides create so many assumptions and stereotypes or counter points against the other that they don't even see them as human. both anti and pros love to tell each other to kill themselves and can't get off each other despite their big fat dnis in bio.

very ridiculous comparison but we spend so much time online i think it's a good thing to analyze these phenomenons with some seriousness?!?! but this is mostly coming from personal frustration with being so afraid of making friends in fandom because everyone now is so rigid with shipping ethics. and i don't want to pretend i share their views but i don't want to make them uncomfortable.

like even the most sociable people you know irl will still have a dni proship in bio and talk about those kinds of shippers like they're the enemy of the fandom... i can agree with a lot of their feelings on some darkships. i don't actually enjoy a majority of darkships because i don't just ship anything for being problematic. the same way fujoshis don't enjoy every single gay ship ever. like this drives me insane. i have a soft heart i am not sinister. AND SO WHAT IF I AM SOMETIMES . STOP WITH THIS SUPERIORITY WE ARE BOTH FREAKS . CANT WE SEE PAST OUR DIFFERENCES. THERE ARE EVEN PSYCHOLOGICAL ARTICLES ABOUT THESE FETISHES AND HOW THEY MANIFEST AS PURELY FANTASY.

stop. making up. bullshit that if you ship it you think it's okay in real life and you have a mental illness and are a danger to society. there's so much to be covered with this dumb dumb argument. i just wish i could enjoy myself in fandoms without feeling ostracized by 80% of the fandom (depending). based on a single ship i like. cause it's harmless it really is. the same way people who make fanfiction or fanart of fictional serial killers aren't suddenly okay with murder because they like the character or ship them or draw them. liking an incestuous ship or a huge age gap etc etc doesn't make you okay with those things in real life.

i find it concerning that people continuously downplay murder in fiction as not as bad as other things. do they not realize that sounds insane? these things aren't meant to be compared they're all heinous or illegal what have you. idk. this just.. idk. i'm not shaking my fist at antis or anything i just wish we weren't so hostile between communities.

friend took my phone and looked through my fanfiction blog and proceeded to act weirded out by my nsfw stuff and then when she saw my wendy testaburger fic she acted like she saw uncensored gore and turned to me then asked "but isn't she 7??" out loud in front of the rest of or friends . some of us live completely different lives from one another. THIS REALLY PISSED ME OFF????

she's a fake southpark fan. especially cause she always says we're kyle and cartman and she KNOWS about the shipping culture in it so??? idk why she acted so shocked. the worst part though was when she tried to screen shot it to send to herself and then kept asking if she could tell other people like this was something sooo embarassing for me.

i didn't realize what was even happening until later . i was just being bullied... that's what that feeling was. i was kind of angry but also felt like i couldn't shake off the weird awkward smile from my face. and i tackled her down to take my phone from her and started fumbling for words to explain myself . "she's obviously not seven in that!!!" is NOT a great sentence to be shouting in an argument.

none of our other friends took notice or cared but i know one of the ones im closer with would've understood. she's very invested into fandom. I JUST HATE THIS MEMORY. IT MADE ME ALL FLUSHED AND HUMILATED. like this is basic nothing fanfiction. there's no controversy to this like this is all the sp fandom IS ABOUT.

So just thinking of what she would say to my occasional interest in brocon ships or any of the other taboo (but less fandom shamed) things i like to see . ugh that was really shitu of her to begin with . but the realization that this is generally how people would react to me and these things dawned on me and ruined my week.

i have an obsession with organizing my phone to "perfection" or in a way that i think will represent my personality really well in the case someone goes through it . with my spotify playlist it's a big obsession because not being able to just shuffle a playlist when i need music as a distraction because every song that plays isn't doing it for me and just souring my mood even more ruins my day so i assume having well curated playlist that always scratch that itch will make everything better . but it is really hard!!!!! i get attatched to songs that i don't even listen to just because im worried one day ill need the song but wont be able to remember it
