Am I the only one who thinks Lucas calling Max “sexy” in the epilogue isn’t out of character but shows character growth?

Up until this point he has been so tentative with her, afraid to say the wrong thing. Look at the scene when he asks her to the movie in season 4, there is a genuine fear in his eyes of being rejected.

After the coma and finally getting her back, my mans is not afraid to shout from the rooftops how he feels knowing she loves him regardless. Neither of them doubting the love that they have for each other.
