Cary Grant learns that his sweet aunts have a rather dark secret in Arsenic and Old Lace (1944)
Featuring: Josephine Hull and Jean Adair
One of my favorites....
cosy rainy days
it all comes down to this: I know who He is.
I know He doesn’t fail, He doesn’t falter, He is kind and big enough. I know He doesn’t lead me where He hasn’t already been. I know He’s faithful. I know He’s more than I can ever even comprehend. I know He’s in my corner, on my side, fighting for me. I know He’s holding my hand with His. I know He’s more, more than enough.
nothing else matters, it all pales in comparison. I know who He is.
Monarch and pansies
Someday I’ll feel like painting something personal again…but that day is not today. Also…this show brings nothing but pain. I can’t say I wasn’t warned.
Rutger Hauer as a medieval knight in one of the best fantasy films ever made “Ladyhawke” (1985) directed by Richard Donner.
One more interesting fact:
Several different hawks were used. One to sit on Rutger Hauer’s arm and another for the flying scenes. A third proved to be mostly unusable, as it enjoyed Hauers company so much that it would ruffle it feathers when seated on his arm, making it look more like a chicken than a stately hawk.

“There was a darling little five-year-old Cuban girl who played one of the native children being herded on board the submarine when they heard the Japanese were going to bomb the island where they lived. This little girl was absolutely thrilled that she was going to be an extra. She thought she was going to get dressed up in a pretty dress. She was in tears when she found out she had to wear just a little cotton shift with tatters because she was playing a native islander. She cried and cried, which worked fine for the scene, but the poor child was really upset.
So Cary, seeing all this, sent his assistant down to the store and bought her the most beautiful little pink pretty dress with tulle. And at the end of the day, when she was finished with her work, he presented it to her. You’ve never seen such an expression on a child’s face in your life. It was so thoughtful and kind and loving of him to do that.”

I love the colors, layers and movement in this piece. :)
