a few air vehicle parts are based on leonardo da vinci's designs of speculative flying machines (images from wikipedia)

like this aerial screw, which has pretty clearly inspired the Downward Spiral part

he has also had numerous ornithopter sketches

which corresponds to a bunch of air vehicle parts, and one of them is named ornithopteryx (third one in the first row). it does just mean bird wing but yeah

in the proto, once youve saved a plant in the flora editor (even if you make a new creation in it,) you can easily just enter the test drive. as expected, the plant behaves like a creature, and all the limbs and parts are very loose and constantly wiggling everywhere; i like the jellyfish or octopus-like motion in the roots here
