I dont know if anyone else has even noticed this but You can see how upset Lee is over Donnie finding out about the reversal side affects of the mutagen. Its like one of his paranoid fears came to life.

You can see down below how he put his head down in a sort-of shamelike way for telling Donnie to not continue this any further.

This was such an interesting point in the movie and I'm still mad we didn't get to have more insight in to Leo's thoughts since the plot had to move at sonic speed, apparently! Every emotional/personal moment was just brushed over too fast. Still like the film, but it could have benefitted from a slightly longer run time that allowed for more exploration of some themes. But yeah, agree with what's being theorized in the reblogs.
