14. do you collect anything? used to collect different translations of the aeneid... #normal but now not so much ! letters, maybe. i don't have much space for anything really, one year everywhere.. ephemera for my walls if that counts ? poems for another book ^^

40. what’s the most interesting item you own? my copies of one of: letters from the end of the world/hill house/piranesi/time war. i've lent them to close friends and we annotate them in different colours, sometimes twice each so far. with time in between of course - it's like an extended conversation. sometimes i think about these friendships ending and still coming home to these. it's all mostly with the same friend who i write letters to, but hill house especially has more people involved !!

22. who was your childhood favourite music artist? from about 13 onwards i have to admit it was mcr. i was exactly that kind of person i'd listen to mcr, twenty one pilots, patd, everyone you'd imagine.

Do you ever meet with your advisors/profs outside school? One of mine offered to meet to catch up (it’s been years since I graduated). Kind of nervous not sure what to discuss? She was one of the most generous and influential profs to me, so I don’t want to mess anything up.. she’s sooo smart and top of her game. I’m intimidated

Same anon here sorry for quick follow-up, but! What should you talk about when you meet a prof for “coffee”? I know she’s interested in lit crit/theory, literature and art. We have those interests in common. But I don’t know the “rules” of such conversation… Wondering if you do?

ooooh this is so exciting !!! you absolutely should, what's led up to it happening since you've graduated a while ago ? i am very much still mired in academia, and haven't ever met up with professors like this (apologies to benjamin, whose i always meant to accept and then forgot to email T-T) so my closest comparison might be my meetings with my thesis supervisor - since i have yet to have a thesis topic, we talk about poetry and music ! i try to follow her lead conversation-wise, and think beforehand about what i could say that she'd find interesting lol maybe this is a bad way to go into it but it works for me !! i know she loves proust so i started reading him.. we'd mentionned anne carson before so i brought her up again etc etc

she sounds so cool you must let me know how it goes !!1 i suppose at the start you can talk a little about your studies earlier but since she's not your prof anymooore maybe it's more a peer to peer thing ? it's hard to balance, right ??

[a number of questionable stick and pokes. the first: right ankle, outside. jellycat amuseable clementine. i made fast friends with a boy called max, and he drew my jellycat one of the first times he stayed over - he gave me three piercings and then we moved on to tattooing each other, this was my first one.
