IMPORTANT STUFFS: bio / profile / wanted connections
TRIGGER WARNING settings alluding to death, bullying, drugs, alcohol, car accidents, drunk driving, murder, anxiety and sex.
grayson was born as im hajoon in birminghan ( not alabama ) and growing up in the uk he was bullied a lot for the way he looked basically just because he stood out in school. so his time in the uk was fairly rough even though he went to a prestigious school and was in the same social standing as the kids who picked on him.
spoke both english and korean growing up in uk. he was only allowed to speak korean in the household cause parents were strict like that and failure wasn’t an option so his school life both in the uk and korea meant excelling in academics.
at the age of fourteen he would move back to south korea due to the death of his grandfather and his father taking over the corporation that has been going for few generations now. he was born into old money.
thankfully enough since he wasn’t allowed to speak english other than outside of his home he is fluent in the language. so adjusting to life in korea was fairly easy than in birmingham.
the family moves to hannam-dong after leaving life behind in the uk and from there grayson would live out his high school life there where he finds himself spiraling down into peer pressure and taking his life to a darker path.
considering he was bullied, he just wants to finally fit in and since his peers around him don’t ridicule him he lingers around those who are more well-known within the school, putting his name out there as well. in order to fit in he succumbs to things that he wouldn’t find himself doing if he was back in the uk.
his partying ways start in high school and there he begins to gravitate towards the bad group he calls his ‘friends’ where he tries lots of things a high school in south korea shouldn’t be doing at the time which is drugs , alcohol and sleeping around. but he does it because it numbs the pain of never being enough for his father and the anxiety he feels because he’s pressure to be the best at home.
but the start of him threading down the wrong path ends as quickly as it begins when his father puts him back in his place and strips away the freedom he once had. his only destination from school being back home. he was pretty much spiraling back down into a dark hole at that point as he was isolated in his room with his only time being outside of home was at school. his younger brother had more freedom than him. sad.
so after graduation things get wildt. so wild that he drinks the pain away at this party he calls himself going too ( which was a mistake that he made upon himself ). the more he drinks the angrier he gets because his father just has that affect on him. just a lot of pent up frustrations which SECRET leads to an altercation in him stabbing another drunken person at the party and him running away from the scene with the knife and to his car.
when he thought things couldn’t get worst he ends up hitting someone and killing them as well, driving off out of fear. grayson was quick but the police were quicker and that ultimately led him to being locked behind bars for a couple months before his father bailed him out and paid someone else to take that blame for him for both incidents.
his father would have to spend more money on him when he doesn’t make it into SNU but thanks to his father’s influence and contributions to the school ( as the university was his alma mater ) his father paid for his way into the prestigious university.
so he ends up majoring in law ( ironic enough ) and graduates. now he’s back as a graduate student currently on his first year and has moved from his parents home and into a penthouse. he is also currently managing one of the smaller branches of im corp ( family business ). hopefully he doesn’t take the wrong path again.

seoha blinked, eyes reflecting the same uncertainty that he was radiating; “grayson? grayson. hi.” question turned to statement, as if trying to ground itself to the unearthed conversation between them. she shot her mother a furtive look, who raised her hands up with a smile and excused herself from the lecture hall, materials in hand as her mother hummed, “i’ll see you on thursday! don’t forget about our coffee date.” the door closed behind her with a soft thud and seoha found herself turning back to her reminder of high school, who seemed to have turned into stone himself, feet unmoving, body so still.
her gaze swept over him. assessing what time had done to him. and oh, it had done him good; grayson had the same baby-ish features as he had back in hannam, but with a mature twist and an unbelievably sharpened jawline. he still had the same round eyes, the same full lips, the habit of biting the inside of his cheek when he was anxious; the inexplicable aura of making her want to her take care of him. those cheeks that she had loved to poke and pull. it was all still there. just how she remembered him.
“it’s been a long time.” seoha heard herself say, “a really long time.”
as if hannam hadn’t been a rollercoaster for him enough. so much had happened and during the times he looked back upon the days he spent attending, he would’ve probably chosen a better route. a part of him wishing that he’d stayed in england, being ridicule for his appearance and standing out from the other students who studied in the same facility. it was a better choice than the ones he allowed others to make for him. leading him down a winding path of unlawful actions and misconstrued decisions that he thought would make himself better. each proven wrongly each time.
but during those days he found someone to lean on. someone he’d come to like an asset he thought would give him the attention he wanted solely because he found someone he ‘loved’. something the other adolescent boys within his grade could only think of having with the other girl who they deemed pretty. so easily a word could be mistaken for something else, but the two were young to even properly understand what the world truly mean -- both using such as a cover up to hide away from their problems. unbeknownst it was never truly a form of love but just a urgent need for a shoulder to lean on.
grayson couldn’t deny upon seeing the female again, she was the same as before. her fair skin radiating within the light, her smile that he’d grown to like for so long. a smile that he found himself missing, somewhat envious of that she could still do so. he wonders if it’s still the same feelings that he had for her back then, but even the more he ponders over the thought he concludes its better the way it is. an unfortunate turn of events, he wonders if things would have been different if his father hadn’t isolated him from his peers back then after going to that party. he wonders if he would’ve found a betterment in his life rather than the amount of pain he caused to others around him. families believing someone else was the culprit for the endings of their children. a student who worked hard only to have his dreams snatched by someone undeserving. that’s the kind of person grayson was and he felt a sense of remorse having to grace his presence upon someone as seoha.
his gaze moves towards the two. for all this time he’d been closer to the other without speculation. when his professor finally makes her exit out of the classroom the only two left was them. he masks whatever feelings away and lets a small smile replace the hints of surprise that was once there.
“it has been long.” he spoke, a nod following after. “have you been well? who knew that my professor was your mother. now i look more the resemblance is there.” he spoke with a sheepish laugh.
minseok was always all up in his business— no matter what grayson was doing, he always had to give his two cents and comment on pretty much everything. there were countless things grayson frequently did that he disagreed with which presented countless opportunities to act like the worried older friend. ( a rather obvious disguise, given the fact that if somebody found his birth certificate … they would see that minseok was, in fact, slighly younger than the other. )
“ so you’re still keeping up your questionable lifestyle choices, ” his words were followed by a disappointed sigh; the usual tactic he went with whenever he lectured the other about his wrongdoings. some would call it manipulative, minseok would call it useful. “ when will you finally grow up and realise that all of this will get you nowhere? there are other ways to pass your time, you know. you don’t always have to get drunk or do drugs. are you not worried about your future? do you even have real plans for your future at all? ”
there were moments in the time spent befriending the male when grayson began to wonder if it was plausible to remove the male from his life or not. the constant reminders the male pushed towards him was insufferable and only caused the two to bump heads more than they actually got along. banters to altercations followed the two daily, and each time grayson grew more tired of the other nitpicking at the way he chose to live his life. surely, he wasn’t perfect nor did he claim to be such. finding the quickest escape that would lead him to a state of euphoric relief was a common factor when it boiled down to his decisions in life. bouncing back between the goods and the evils because of his own lack of diligence.
the so-called ‘friend’ of his reminded him a lot of the man who brought him down to his lowest. minseok only had a lesser effect than his father had on his mental sanity. downplaying his decisions instead of offering advice it was a way to make him feel guilty that he gave in to his sins. the male was less than a helping hand but more of a nuisance in his life that he kept holding on to.
it the roll of his eyes that allows each sentence to flow through one canal and out the other. hearing the same words constantly as if on an infinite loop grew not only tiresome but bothersome as well. he knew the consequences of his actions as they already caught up to him once before. he knew the severity of trouble he could get by constantly using alcohol as a leverage to make him feel better. he knew that the substances of marijuana was illegal and he could serve impeccable amount of jail time for it. he knew because it was what he studied all those years in a university that he wasn’t meant to enroll in.
the secrets that he kept within the deepest part of his being, the fear that creep up every now and then at the mere thought of someone discovering what he’d remained hidden from the world, affected his state of being to the point where he choice to walk the same path that lead him there in the first place. he bites the inside of his cheek, annoyed at the presence of the other.
“sometimes it’s better to mind your fucking business.” he started, never one to hold his tongue. “another thing i don’t need you to constantly tell me what i’m doing with my life. i know what’s wrong and i know what right. you’re not even being helpful right now. instead of lecturing me about the shit i do, worry about yourself. it’s not like you’re a walk of perfection either.” a scoff leaves his lips after he speaks upon the male’s never-ending list of “reasons to make grayson feel shitter about himself”. he didn’t need this from the male either.
an addiction that had slowly burned out over the years would creep its way back to him every now and then. his demons always following no matter where life takes him. only when he felt at his lowest did he rely on such to avoid the pain. a quick way to forget the things around him, to forget his situations that dragged him into deeps ends. though he masked his secrets and pains away under books of law and leading one of the branches of his father’s company, he found times where he was seeing some sort of light at the end of the winding tunnel. when his life takes a turn for the better the worst follows right after.
his father makes life less easier, pushing him lower with his choice of words. it’s never words of encouragement or statements expressing that he’s proud but only disappointment. with each time he copes himself to forget the words from his father replays clearly as if on a endless loop, forcing himself into a form of disparity too much for him to handle.
and today he’s found his place at the bar once again, ready to forget.
another person had arrived, someone he grew familiar too in a place such as this one. it wasn’t often that the two would meet as grayson busied himself with school work and managing a company that he didn’t want to take upon for himself. he was sure the female had her share of work within her life as well. it was small talk when the two would cross paths and nothing more than that. he never opened up to her as he felt that he didn’t need to, nor did he get himself past concerning levels of intoxication to pour out his confessions to her.
it was shot after shot, like water it would go down. just like old times as he would take as many as was offered to him. it was stress, and the upsetting feeling that followed him on a daily.
“in about two hours i will be too intoxicated to even remember this even happening, so i’m not all too concerned.” he spoke truthfully as he turns towards her, meeting what he deemed an expression of worry. the scene he was making for himself wasn’t new, but too familiar to worry himself about it within the moment. regret only comes after.
“funny how we always meet up like this. what brought you here today?”
we’re all imperfections...

concentration upheld over the years within the closed doors of large classrooms of the prestigious university. he knew he wasn’t suppose to be amongst the students who prepared their lives to have this chance, yet his father stolen a chance of another to have him be amongst his peers. he wasn’t perfect, less than something that his father wanted him to become. riddled with the pain and guilt that followed him from that horrific incident that changed his life. guilt of the life he’d stolen from two innocents and an opportunity one would never have. now, he walks through his life silent, finding multiple outlets to alleviate himself of the hauntings of the memories that plagues his mind.
time waits for no one, and it was one thing he could fully agree on as within a blink of an eye he as moved to becoming a graduate in law and now enrolled in the graduated program. he’d now found a place of his own and away from the toxicity of his household. a strict set of rules now broken free from, grayson would have thought that he could finally find peace, but the man who brought him into such a low rut always managed to take him lower. he would never fully be free of his father’s binds as he now works under him, a set path that was to be followed from the time he was born. did he even want this? his flaw of not allowing himself to make his own choices led him to deviations in paths that could’ve been better suited for him.
lessons were ending and the class was dismissing one by one. grayson always found himself being one of the last few to depart, gathering his belongings he stuffed them in the bag. the moment he stood to take his leave he froze upon seeing the female walking towards his professor. someone so familiar from his past that made his heart almost skip and his fingers clasp around the strap of his bag. the two were once close, but due to unfortunate circumstances and realization of feelings the drift severed their relationship to no more. was it love that he felt for her? no, but he did like her enough back then. he liked the fact that he had someone to lean on, someone to understand him when no one else couldn’t. she was another outlet for him and upon that realization another wave of guilt washed over him.
he really was a shitty person.
only a few moments had passed before he watched as the conversation between the professor and the female end. only then when she would turn her back towards him his words would speak out loud. “seoha?” in the form of a question, as if there was uncertainty if she was who he thought she was. no, he knew clear that she was indeed the person he was fond of, but that was back then, when they were young and unsure.
