the rich irony in the fact that ford went to gravity falls seeking anomalies because he felt a kinship to them, when the portal sucking him in ended up making him an “anomaly” himself, beyond his polydactyly this time. to dipper and the viewers, The Author is just another mystery, just another creature in the journal. he cannot be seen by human eyes, cannot be known by the audience. when he comes back, he’s been alone, without human contact for 30 years. he speaks more of the supernatural than of any people he knows, he lurks in the basement where all the other “secrets” are. he can’t be seen in public because stan has essentially “replaced” him. stanford pines, the man, is now stanford pines, the mystery.

You know how abusers would coax their victims into believing ‘if you said yes once then it’s always a yes’ that type of shit right,,,, I just realized that’s actually how bill’s deals work, as in once ford shook his hand, he gained full access to ford’s body and could do whatever he wanted ever since. Ford literally had to put a physical metal plate in his brain to stop it from happening. I feel like ford’s voice is just a tiny bit higher than JKS’s own comfortable vocal range and that makes ford’s voice crack a little when he’s shouting/talking loudly…it’s so cute…My hc is that this higher voice is ford’s social voice and when he’s relaxed he goes back to that smooth bass baritone
