Arrow 5x04: Penance (Part 1 of 2)
Stephen Amell talks about whether or not Colin Donnell returns in Arrow Episode 100, and details his favorite returning cast member to act with again.
The upcoming 100th episode of Arrow brings back some favorites from times past, including Susanna Thompson (Moira), Katie Cassidy (Laurel), Jamey Sheridan (Robert Queen), John Barrowman (Malcolm), and even Deathstroke in some form… but many of us were wondering, beyond Raisa the maid*, will Oliver Queen’s best friend Tommy, as played by Colin Donnell, be back for Episode 100?
Sadly, according to Stephen Amell at the Arrow 100th episode green carpet, Colin is not back – but there is a “nice nod” to the character, which implies to us that he will be represented.
“There’s a nice nod to Colin, but he’s literally a series regular on another show,” Stephen told us. “We tried to make it work, but we couldn’t make it work.”
So of those who were able to return, was there one that brought Stephen particular joy to work with again?
“Susanna, for sure,” Stephen said. “She was always very maternal to me and to Willa, and to Colin and Katie — to everyone on the entire cast, she was always very maternal, and the show lost something when we lost her, and even for a very brief moment, it was really amazing to have her back.”

One of the most controversial elements of DC’s The New 52 reboot in 2011 among longtime fans was the unshakeable sense that Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) – The Flash – had escaped any kind of consequences for the irresponsible use of his powers that led to the Flashpoint crisis and, by extension, the reworked New 52 timeline.
On television (so far), things have been a little better on that front: years of hindsight, maybe, and a writers’ room instead of one guy who had to set the stage for something bigger than the tale he was telling, play into it, but we’ve seen at least a couple of people really lay into Barry for being irresponsible with his powers.
Fans have also been wondering: how will John Diggle (David Ramsey) handle it? Not even a character on The Flash, the Arrow regular is barely on a first-name basis with Barry Allen, and yet he’s one of the characters whose life was changed in the biggest ways.
For those who haven’t yet watched the season premiere of The Flash, or who didn’t catch the line of dialogue in last week’s Arrow that referred to “John Jr.,” here’s the skinny: When Barry returned from an alternate timeline (one he had created by traveling to the past to save his mother from being murdered, and then eliminated by traveling back a second time to allow her murder to play out), it was revealed that John Diggle and Lyla Michaels’s daughter Sara no longer existed, and was replaced by a son – John, Jr.
With John already handling a mountain of personal trauma (most notably the fallout from choosing to kill his brother, a HIVE agent, last season), ComicBook.com spoke with Ramsey at the Arrow 100th episode party over the weekend, and asked him: how will Diggle handle the revelation?
“Much more compassionately than you might think,” Ramsey said. “Diggle can’t miss anything he’s never had and ‘Flashpoint’ changes history – it changes his history directly – so he never can really miss Baby Sara anymore, becuase he never had her, but he is concerned about Barry. Barry’s actions were reckless, and with all that power, being reckless – to someone as disciplined as Diggle – comes as a shock.”
In a previous episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, fans saw that a version of John Diggle, Jr., had grown up to become the next Green Arrow, going by the name of Connor Hawke and dressing in an outfit close to that character’s costume from the comics. That reality, though, was a bleak and dangerous one triggered by the accumulation of too much power on the part of Vandal Savage, who died in Legends’s first season. Whether the “real” version of John, Jr. will grow into the role of Connor Hawke isn’t clear.
Arrow: Susanna Thompson returning for 100th episode
EW has learned exclusively that Susanna Thompson will reprise her role as Moira Queen during the landmark hour. Details on how she’s returning are being kept under wraps.
An original series regular, Thompson left The CW show after season 2 when the Queen matriarch was killed by Deathstroke (Manu Bennet).

"Arrow" Season 5 Synopsis Teases 'a Deadly New Adversary' & New Heroes - However, the "painful inexperience" of Oliver Queen's new allies may make them more of a hindrance than a help.
Loving the S5 Synopsis. Not a ton of new info, but I’m just legit jazzed for this season. The more Oliver fucks shit up in the premiere, the happier I’ll be because there’s no where for homeboy to go but up! lol
#Arrow : you know with the consequences of the flashpoint there will be some changes on arrow, but how will they deal with the season once the flashpoint is gone and "everything" is at it should be before the flashpoint ? just wondering how it will impact Arrow ...Because one season with stuff happening with a big Gotcha in the end well...
Here’s my wrap up of the DC Panels! I give the run down of my favorite spoilers and moments from the Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow panels. I also make a connection between Laurel’s final words to Oliver and… Olicity. Enjoy!
