An open letter to the problem children in America.
Disclaimer: I am an American citizen who subscribes to the belief that what we should be doing taking into account that America isnât a business(sorry Trump), women are created equal (sorry old fashioned people, you know who you are), and that when you are presenting an argument to someone, a Bible verse does not count as reinforcement(sorry people who cherry pick the verses out of the Good-Book that apply to what they want in life).Â
If you donât agree with me I really donât care.Â
 Most people have an âideaâ of how America should be run. They have their complaints, they have their pet peeves, etc. Although no one actually puts their best foot forward to fix anything. The problem with Americans is the fact they we donât think about our beliefs as they affect other people, we would rather just sit around and condemn others for being gay, fat or divorced. They just see issues and problems on a level that is not human, but a level that is equivalent to a figment of imagination. People want a Utopia. And the problem with that is, Utopia is different for everyone.  What is mine? A society, a country that accepts people for who they are, a place where anyone can feel safe. Women arenât treated as if it was their fault they were raped, girls arenât sold an image that they are supposed to be perfect, little boys can feel okay wearing a pink shirt if they choose to, etc. But to some people that is wrong. Why? Because they have been told that women should always be under men, gay people are abominations, and rape isnât a real issue. An example of my issue. People are quick to judge President Obama on anything, especially healthcare. But do those people have a well thought out solution to the fact that there are numerous amounts of children who donât have healthcare? No. They just think about how we are becoming Communist. The very fact that we can complain about it openly and argue with each other, proves that we are not. You can complain all you want about Obamaâs healthcare plan being expensive, but did you try to do anything about the situation we are in? What situation you ask? Oh the situation where going to the doctor or getting sick got so expensive that people go bankrupt due to natural causes. Do I like his plan? I am personally still on the fence. Time will tell if it lowers the health costs for the citizens, and if it doesnât I will probably migrate to the side of the fence that wants something different.Â
Gay marriage is now legal, but people are still refusing to sell a wedding cake to gay couples. *HOW COME* they donât refuse to sell things to people who are divorced and on their second marriage? You can not complain about gay marriage ruining the sanctity of marriage when you are ruining it yourself. I am not saying that divorce is bad, I am saying that it is just as bad as being gay is in the bible. Does it mean that you are a bad person? No. It does meant that you are not following the Bible, and are just as âwrongâ according to your own beliefs.  I think divorce and gay marriage are equal in the sin department, and you should definitely consider that next time you  condemn someone for being gay, or vote against Gay marriage on a bible verse you picked out instead of forming your own opinion based in fact.Â
Side note:People complain that the standard perception of conservatives is that they are close minded and old fashioned. Although, they are completely okay with labeling liberals as stupid and discount their opinions immediately because they aren't always based on Faith. SO remember when you are reading this article that this is an opinion based in the favor of humanity, and itâs intention is not to deface your religion, but to open your eyes.
