Cat-Tales is the real story, a Catwoman metafiction series by Chris Dee. Let’s say nearly everything you’ve ever read in a comic book is wrong. The identities are correct: Bruce Wayne is Batman, Selina Kyle is Catwoman. They live in Gotham City. There is a Wayne Manor, a Batcave and Batsignal, etc. But the rest is all exaggeration, distortion, and often the outright lies of a sensationalist tabloid called The Gotham Post, otherwise known as DC Comics. Cat-Tales tells the truth behind that fiction, revealing characters that are more complex and fully-human than anyone thought possible. Heart-stopping romance, side-splitting humor, and poignantly understated tragedy, it’s all here: the man inside the Bat, the woman within the Cat, the life between the panels, the truth behind the masks. * * * * * * Chris Dee is an award-winning playwright, entertainment consultant, and metafiction author who brings real life experience to her storyverse, fusing it with unimagined truth and depth.
She is a woman who has squatted down next to a 500-lb Bengal tiger and petted its fur. She has held an ocelot in her arms and allowed it to ‘groom’ her forearm. She has spent the night in a cabin with two rambunctious caracals. She studied art in Florence, Italy, worked in a museum and walked through its galleries after closing. She knows the difference between Picasso and Pissarro, Manet and Monet. She has been inside Cartier. She has been inside a corporate board room. She has been on a yacht and in a private plane.
The life experience Chris Dee brings to these tales brings a depth to the characters unseen in any previous incarnations.

“Perrrrrfect”
—Comic Book and Movie Reviews
“A Catwoman who could be sexy and playful, joyful and bitchy, witty and kinky and smart, simply because that is who she is”
— Comic Book Resources
“Ten times the love and respect for the characters than the authors of the official comics… More emotion and charm than most novels on the bestseller list.”

Attention please, Mr. Pennyworth desires a moment of your time. Those of you with "Special Day" calendars will wish to update International Tea Day from December to its new observance, TODAY. This is the day to revisit Polishing Silver: The (true) Journal of Alfred Pennyworth
How the Batmobile Begins... A character piece set during Bruce Wayne's years of travel. First stop after the dojos and kwoons of Asia is Italy's Motor Valley.

A Batmobile origin story for Batman Day. Before it took shape as a character piece, I was concerned about a lack of conflict and so went with a well-worn shtick opening in the present day and telli…
Tomorrow is Batman Day, and Cat-Tales will be celebrating with a new tale set during Bruce’s years of travel, centering on the Batmobile. Today, we have a brief teaser.
Cat-Tales: Mrs. Wayne Will Conclude at a Later Date
Cat-Tales readers are aware the current chapter of Mrs. Wayne began with a flash forward to Gotham burning and hints of civil unrest. The astute may have connected these glimpses to the Joker plot teased in the tale’s opening, the chapter on the GCPD, or to the upcoming trial of Gus Payne captured in a slow-speed chase that evoked O.J. Simpsons and the racial tension of Los Angeles in the ‘90s.
The events of the past week in so many American cities make it monstrously inappropriate to continue where this story is going, not at this time. Better days will come and it will conclude at some point.
In the meantime, we’ll have something new. Perhaps something set before A Girl’s Gotta Protect Her Reputation, perhaps more Untold Tales from Book 2 or 3, maybe an alternate universe.
In the meantime, we have 75 stories that I hope can provide a respite from the challenges we’re all living through.
In the meantime, stay safe, stay sane, and remember, times like these are why we tell stories of heroes.
National Museum Day is one of those cat burglar holidays Selina observes that nobody else quite appreciates. There are so many Cat-Tales we could feature to celebrate. What are your picks?
With all that's going on, this absolute stunner of a 90s Catwoman from Diamond Select almost slipped through unnoticed. She's available for preorder NOW from Entertainment Earth, for tentative release in October, though of course that is subject to change.
I have never seen a purple Catwoman figure that nails the aesthetic like this. The makers obviously understand the importance of her long hair that eludes almost everyone, as the sales blurb not only mentions it, but just LOOK what they've done with it and that cat on her shoulder. Perfection!
But besides that, check out her face. When have we ever seen such beautiful features on a statuette before? Those are the eyes we see when Jim Balent draws her. This figure was made with love for the character, and it shows.
It's International Women's Day and the series that fought back for Catwoman turns 19. We are proud to have endured thanks to the support and enthusiasm of so many wonderful readers, more than a few of whom became contributors. CT Creator Chris Dee is proud to quote that other batcat writer "I'm still here."
Cat-Tales began acknowledging these anniversaries in Year Five, with the release of a playbill for the Selina's stage show (also called Cat-Tales) from story 1: A Girl's Gotta Protect Her Reputation. You can listen to the audio book and read all of the tales at catwoman-cattales.com

Cat-Tales is back, and going back to its roots (for this chapter at least) commenting on the goings on in the Gotham Post.
