Christina Campos was born as the youngest child to a family of Brazilian immigrants looking for their American dream. Her grandparents had moved to California when they were young and started a winery which would eventually become the Campos legacy. Francisco and Maria had three children and all of them grew to be vastly different little people. There was Leo, the one who was always careful, thought things through and led by example for his two younger siblings. Carlos, the classic middle child who was always looking for attention and causing trouble for their parents. And finally, little Christina who was a quiet and introspective child. Chrissy always felt like she was growing up in her brothers’ shadow, wanting to be just like them, but afraid to ever outshine those big personalities. At least until she was six when a talent scout signed her to their management company and started getting her cast in TV shows and films left and right. The once shy little girl who was more interested in watching others than experiencing things herself was now the one getting all the attention and she bloomed into someone who had big ambitions and suddenly found her place in the world.

Chrissy starred in a number of productions until her early teens when she stopped getting call backs, was no longer getting cast in the big parts, and her acting career was starting to fall apart. She tried to keep a positive attitude and ended up going into modeling instead until she got her feet back underneath her, hoping to return to the silver screen someday. And she did, but not in the way she had hoped. When Chrissy was 18 she was involved in a scandal that ended up plastered all over the news once the story broke. She slept with a casting director to get a part in a major blockbuster film and once the movie premiered, the actress who should have gotten the part exposed Chrissy to every major media outlet that would listen. Soon after that, Chrissy was blacklisted from Hollywood and her agency dropped her as a client.

She was mortified and left Los Angeles to hide from the people who were dying to make her even more miserable and embarrassed than she already was. It was a huge mistake and Chrissy knew that but the shame was too much to bear so she hopped on a plane to Europe and didn’t look back. It was hard to go unnoticed even in Europe though and so Chrissy took to spending time in smaller towns and cities so that she could try to get her life on track.

After a couple of years of running around Europe, she decided it was time to go home but the minute she landed at LAX, Chrissy got right back on another flight and headed to Seattle where her brothers had been living and running a few wine bars their parents had opened up in the last few years. She was ready to start afresh and figure out a new life for herself. Her days of being an actress were over and she knew that but there had to be more to life. After moving to the Emerald City, Chrissy enrolled at University of Washington and started working on her degree in Marketing. She still gets photographed occasionally by the paparazzi but most of the time no one is interested in the washed up actress anymore.

Things felt like they might be getting back to normal slowly, at least until Leo was involved in an accident that claimed his life. Her big brother was her hero and losing him was like losing a piece of herself. She leaned heavily on her brother Carlos and tried to keep it together because another meltdown was the last thing her family needed. It wasn’t long after that horrible accident that Carlos lost his wife and the mother of his children. It felt like the Campos family couldn’t catch a break. Despite all of the death and tragedy in her family, her parents stayed mostly in Los Angeles and Chrissy decided that if they weren’t going to come and be with their children, that she didn’t need them.

Chrissy spends a lot of her time working and managing the social media accounts of a large marketing agency in Seattle and is mostly happy with her life now. When she isn’t working, Chrissy can be found relaxing in front of the jellyfish at the aquarium, cuddling up to a kitten at Purrfect Cup, immersing herself in the culture of the international district, or enjoying a glass of pinot noir atop the Skyview Observatory with her girl friends. Chrissy is fun loving and adventurous and trying very hard to rebuild her image and her life. While she might not have a lot to be proud of in her past, she wants her future to be better and has done her best to make sure that no one can ever say she didn’t recover from the scandal. She’s not someone who is open with her emotions most of the time, and so her loss and pain is kept to herself usually. There are a few trusted people in her life who get to see her truth but outside of that inner circle, Chrissy keeps her calm and collected fun loving face on.

Ben leaned against the railing of the pier. The lights flashed against the water, allowing it to glisten and glitter below him. It was the simple stuff that made him feel an ease and pleasure. So ridiculous as it sounded, it made him forget all about the stressors that he kept on his shoulders. However, it was also a distraction, one that kept him from hearing someone calling his attention. It took him a moment, but soon enough, Ben heard the voice. He turned around and stood up straight. “I’m sorry, did you say something to me?”

For someone who was always on her best, today was not going as planned. Chrissy had always been an emotional person but this was something else entirely. She was already on the verge of tears when she stopped at the pier and found herself looking out at the water. Her heart was in her throat and she was sure she could pull herself together if she just had a moment of quiet but the sound of another’s voice drew her out of her thoughts and she sucked in a shallow breath before she shook her head and met his eyes, her own dark brown hues brimming with tears. “I’m sorry. I just um, no I didn’t say anything.” Her bottom lip quivered as a few tears spilled over her cheeks.

Ever since Valentines day, the hole in Verona's heart seemed to just grow. It had been a few years since the tragedy, but there were moments where everything seemed amplified. As a result the former model had spent a lot of time painting in isolation at home and trying to work through a few thing's. By the time she had emerged it was already a new month and she had a lot of work that she felt was pretty great. On the other hand she had to catch up with the people who mattered most to her and Chrissy was always at the top of the list. The coffee shop was a little less flashy then their last meeting around drinks and food, but the comfort of the café was needed. " Thanks for meeting me here. There was one person in Chrissy’s life who understood the depth of her loss when it came to Leo. He was her closest brother and losing him had left a gaping hole in her chest. Verona knew how that loss felt because he was the love of her life. They both lost a huge piece of themselves that day and would be bonded forever because of it. “Of course, you’re my sister forever and you know that. I will always come when you call me.” Even if Verona and Leo had never made it down the aisle, Chrissy would forever consider her a sister. “What drink is it? Should I get one too?”

“I think the key is just to look really hot and obviously single at the bar.” She nodded as she took Harlow’s hand and sauntered over to the bar. Chrissy tossed her dark hair back over her shoulder. “Networking. God men are so trivial sometimes. He should be tearing your clothes off right now and ravaging you in the bathroom.” The brunette rolled her eyes as she came to lean against the bar, eyeing the crowd hanging out there without a partner. “Okay babe, who are my options, what do you think?”

“Bold of you to assume I’m not vain enough dispute that fact.” He replied. Feigning the fact that comment hurt him. He couldn’t keep that act up long. He got to talk about quite possibly his favorite thing on the planet. Gnomes. “I do have garden gnomes. There’s two on my walk way.” He felt a little less stress about explaining all this. She did say she was interested so that helped open up. Despite the internal reservations, Robbie’s eyes were full of joy. “Inside I have some on a bookshelf for decoration. They’re small little guys. No I don’t have a shrine they are just my decor of choice. They’re adorable. They got the pointy hats and the beards! And they come in seasonal themes! I got valentines day gnomes for myself. They’re sitting on my couch."

She had to laugh at the way that he responded to her slight dig at him and Chrissy admired the confidence. She was a very confident person too so anyone who could mirror that back to her was a winner in her book. She listened to him talk about his gnomes and...decided not to make fun of him for it despite the fact that she found it odd. “Bestie, to each their own, I’m not gonna call you a weirdo for it because you already self identified as one.” She laughed and snagged a dessert of the table for herself, popping the brownie bite into her mouth. “You do not sit on the couch next to them. Stop. Babe if you tell me that you talk to them next I’m gonna lose my mind.”

It wasn't very often something like happened. Omar was having a drink with friends when he overheard someone start talking loudly about how climate change was a total joke and it was just sensationalised news.  He stood and listened as the person continued to make a fool of themselves. Omar leant in the the person beside him and smiled. “ Do you think I should tell them I am a meteorologist and everything they have been told is horse crap…” He stopped and then smiled. “  Nah I think I’ll let them think they know what they are talking about.” He said as he watched them with wide eyes as they tried to command the room with their uneducated views. Omar turned to the person next to them and smiled “I’ll buy you a drink if you promise not tell them I know more about climate change then they do.” He chuckled and put his finger to his lips.

She wasn’t paying much attention to the guy shouting about his close minded perspective but she smiled at the way the man next to her was considering calling him out on his shit. She finished her lemondrop and shook her head. “There really is something deeply wrong with a large portion of the male population and I find it extremely hard to stay tight lipped about it.” Chrissy sighed and smiled over at him. “Not all of you though, I won’t assume anything about you since all I know is that you frequently tell me to bring an umbrella in a city where it rains every day but we all choose to have wet hair instead of looking like a tourist.” Chrissy wasn’t even a native to the city but she knew better than to be caught dead with an umbrella in Seattle. “Deal. Lemondrop please Mr. Weatherman.”

That was quite the descriptor, he laughed as he introduced himself. “I’m Robbie, and it’s part of my charm.” A lot of the sweets had been devoured by now. Nothing was quite empty yet. He’d been eyeing up some cake slices now too. But dinner would be at some point. So he couldn’t fill up on sweets. “I am weird though! I get told that all the time. God I sound so arrogant but hear me out for a second.” He could feel any good impression he made about to throw itself out the window. He didn’t intend to scare her away with his quirks. But the door was… slightly open… might as well explain himself. “So okay, initially it’s oh okay you’re attractive I’ll get to talking to you. Oh you cook, even better… Oh you’re like this unofficial boy scout leader who has a gnome collection… now you’re weird. It’s how a lot of conversations have gone."

Chrissy stopped with him at the dessert table, picking up a little plate to add a few bits and pieces to as Robbie spoke. She laughed a little at the way he was describing himself and once her plate was filled she turned and locked eyes with him. “Bold of you to assume everyone finds you attractive on first sight.” He was good looking but the assumption that people automatically started with that was a little off putting. She took a bite of a strawberry tart and cocked her head at him. “But I am sort of interested in the gnome thing. Like garden gnomes or do you keep them in your bedroom in a little shrine to some omniscient gnome god?” Chrissy teased as she took a sip of her champagne.

The holiday of love really did bring out the worst in people. He saw it around the winter holidays as well. He would have offered to stick around more but he had to get back to Ezra as well. “You’re a beautiful woman and the night is young. Don’t give up hope yet. I can indeed be your weirdo repellent for a while. At least until I find my date. I don’t think I’m that weird. A nice little dash of weird, but only to liven up conversations."

“The night is more like middle aged with a good eye cream and trying to pass itself off as young, but I appreciate your optimism.” Chrissy held out her arm to take his as she headed away from the back wall they were at and towards the dessert bar the man had been talking about earlier. “I’m Christina by the way, Mr. Dash of Weird. Do you have a real name you’d prefer?” She smiled as she glanced up at the man.

There was too much chocolate for Robbie’s liking. Chocolate tended to be messy and yet he was not about to pass up the extra fudge brownies. He was mid bite of it when questioned where the desert originated. “There’s a desert bar. Fully loaded just past the dance floor. Highly recommend it by the way. You can use the extra icing to throw it at whoever was rude to you in the restroom.” He hadn’t heard everything but putting two and two together, something had gone down. “Petty revenge can be the most satisfying.”

“People are really the worst right? Like, it’s Valentine’s Day and yet still here I am with a fire lit under my ass instead of being wined and dined by some hottie.” Chrissy really needed to get out there more often but her job kept her busy and her past life kept her from wanting to reach out all that often. “Maybe you can show me where it is? I could use someone to stand next to me and ward off the weirdos and the creeps. Unless you are a weirdo or a creep in which case, I’ll go myself.”

Harlow could not help but laugh at Chrissy’s remake. If it had been up to her, she would have much rathered stayed home with her husband and relaxed. Jay was the opposite. I don’t want to end up with some angry girlfriend trying to bite my head off for hitting on her boyfriend on valentines day.” Not that a little smile and charm couldn’t usually get her out of just about anything because it did most of the time. “Where’s your man candy anyway?”

Chrissy turned her head to scan the crowd before she saw the guy, who now had a giant wet spot on his white shirt, looking sulky over by the dessert table. “That one was on the receiving end of her rage.” She pointed him out discreetly before turning back to the bar. “I don’t know that’s your...what, nine o’clock?” She turned her eyes back to the busy bar and glanced up at him. “Sounded like he was texting another girl while here on a date with someone else and she was none too pleased with that. I don’t blame her though. If someone wants to take you out then they should be focused on you, not whoever they’re planning to go find later.” She’d had her fair share of shitty dates and knew the feeling all too well. “You could be right, but I didn’t come with my eye on anyone so that might be a harder find.”

She was washing her hands when the door to the restroom swung open and she gasped, spinning around to see the person who had barged in. “Jesus, this is a one person at a time bathroom! Aksel was glad Matt had asked him to come to the event, he finally felt part of something and didn’t feel the need to hide away. It was a great event and the boat looked beautiful and welcoming. The bar was decked out in hearts and Aksel enjoyed the romance of it all  He watched people socialise and party as he waited for his and matts drinks to be made. Typically Aksel had gone for the most bizarre, romantic named drinks with all the sparklers and umbrellas. He caught Matt’s eye and smiled. He was so handsome and it made Aksel feel at ease. “ they are almost ready” He mouthed to his boyfriend as the barman carried on making the drinks, He turned and saw someone next to him and smiled. “ Hey, having a good night?” He asked “ I love this boat, its such a cool event.”

Chrissy had been having fun she supposed but it would be more fun if she had a date. It was her own fault for not dating enough in the last couple of years but god it seemed like so much effort that she was too busy for. Valentine’s Day though did remind her of how lonely she was, especially surrounded by lovebirds like she was tonight. She leaned on the bar and waited for her drink, nodding at the voice next to her. “Yeah, it’s been alright. I watched a girl throw a drink in someone’s face earlier so that was exciting. But coming to this kind of thing as a single person is a teensy bit...depressing.” She admitted.

“How many people do you think have put their dirty fingers into this chocolate fountain?” Chrissy asked as she picked up a strawberry and debated dipping it into the chocolate before thinking better of it and popped it in her mouth without. Her eyes moved to the man she’d just seen the other woman talking to and she cocked her head to the side with a smile. “Is that guy your date or is he fair game to whichever pathetic single girls are here looking for a man to pay attention to her?” The tall dark haired man was sipping on something by himself now but she’d seen the brunette talking to him a minute ago.

“What do you do for a creative outlet then?” Davion asked, genuinely interested.  The glance he issued as she repeated his name was wary at best.  “Please, call me Davion.  Mr. Travers is my grandfather.”  He hadn’t known his grandfather.  Oh well.  “It’s my mistake, really.  I didn’t know you’d changed professions.”

It was a good question she supposed because the more Chrissy thought about it, she didn’t really have one anymore. Ever since she left Hollywood her life had been starkly different. “Nothing really. I work in social media marketing now so my creativity is all really tied to that but it’s a very different life.” She smiled at his correction and shook her head. “My apologies, Davion. Are you new to the city or are you a native Seattlite?” Chrissy posed the question curiously, cocking her head to the side.

Heels clicked on the pavement outside of the truly mediocre coffee shop but Chrissy was in the mood for something that could only be found at Starbucks, the classic frappuccino. “I’m telling you girl, Tuesday Boozeday turned into ‘What-the-Fuck-Were-You-Thinking Wednesday real fast. It’s all a blur.” She chatted into her phone before she stopped in front of the door and nodded a few times with a sigh. “Yeah, lets never do that again. I’m still recovering and it’s Thursday already. I’ll see you tomorrow babe. Tell your stupid boyfriend I hate him. Bye!” She hung up her phone and glanced at the woman behind her. “Oh god, sorry I’m standing her blabbering on about my drunken antics and I’m just blocking the door like a total ass hat. Here, let me get it for you.” She smiled and pulled the door open as she stepped out of the way. “After you!”
