I was just happy to be a recognized part of it, but I would agree. The way everyone pulled together was amazing. I tale it you’ve been enjoying your new found freedom?

It definitely was super cool to take part in. I have been exploring little by little. When I arrived here privileges were long gone, so aside from one off campus day and the beach trip back in August or September I haven't really had the chance to get to know it. I'm making up for that now though. What about you?

"Well really that’s only because you see me five percent of the time. I keep telling you you need to come around more often." She shook her head and clicked her tongue at him as if she was disappointed. Rory sighed. She really hated hr full name. "Aurora Rosalie Pillsbury. Don’t ever call me Aurora." She remembered almost wanting to order her own sister to shave her head for calling her Aurora. "Your turn."

Christian bit his lip and nodded, knowing that she was right and he did disappear entirely too often. He couldn't really explain to her why though, because he honestly had no idea. "For the record, I already know not to call you Aurora. I still think it's a beautiful name, but you're more of a Rory anyway." He shrugged a little, taking another bite of his food and stashing this bit of information in his head about the girl. "Christian Andrew Remington." He said with a sigh. Saying his own full name out loud brought up memories of when he was little. It really was the perfect name for being scolded.

She could feel his eyes on her and she could feel the color that crept up the back of her neck. She hated to be watched eating, even more so now. “I’m a firmly believer in you can’t pick your family but you can pick if you want them to be in your life or not.” She had strong feelings about this and she only turned her attention back to her food. “I think we both bounce back and forth between being the asshole.” She shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes lips together before she looked up again. “So if I yell at you it has more umph with your full name.”

Christian chewed thoughtfully as he listened, her words making sense. Family didn't always mean the people you were related to, and sometimes being related was as far as the relationship went. Still though, you came from the same place and he held some sort of value to that. "For the record I only see you being the asshole like five percent of the time." He grinned at her before starting to laugh. "I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours first. Or just in general if you tell me it."

Rory pressed her lips and hook her head. “Rosetta is to me what Griffin is to you.” She pushed around the food on her plate before she finally took a bite. She chewed it more than normal, nibbling slowly. “We don’t have the best relationship. I’ve always just been closer to Milo.” She knew the reasons but she kept them to herself. “What’s your middle name?” She changed the subject quickly.

Christian nodded, taking another bite of his food before looking back at her. Ever since he was a child, he had been told time and time again that it was rude to stare at people while they were eating. But with Rory, he couldn't help but watch for a moment. She ate so timidly. "I think that's one of the shitty things about being born in threes. Two may get along better, and you're kind of just stuck. I don't know if you're Griffin or me in this scenario, but either way...maybe you can take your time here and build kind of a normal relationship with her." He shrugged, knowing that ultimately Rory would do whatever she wanted to. When she asked his middle name, he couldn't help but laugh. "Why in the world do you want to know my middle name?"

Rory could understand how things would be weird. She really wouldn’t want him to be friends with her siblings if he had slept with. There was always the chance that temptation would rear its ugly head and then things would get really messy. “Yeah, Ian was fine. Griffin is just an ass.” She shrugged her shoulders and was glad for another interruption from the waiter bringing there food and there was that same put in her stomach. “Sometimes family just isn’t meant to be get along. Blood doesn’t make you obligated to anyone.”

"This is true. I just didn't think we had that kind of relationship." He added quietly, picking up his fork and eyeing the plate that was put in front of him. The smell of pasta hit his nose and he was pretty sure his mouth was watering- it definitely was mouth-watering worthy. "Speaking of siblings, I did notice that your sister is here." He said casually, taking a bite of his dish and looking up at her.

Rory made a face and rolled her eyes a little. “By all means go for it. I don’t really play match maker for friendships, don’t really think I would be good at it at all, but I think you two would get along just fine. He’s not that hard to please.” She shrugged her shoulders. It would be far better than Milo and Matt that was for sure. Maybe she might actually get her family Christmas dinner this time. “I do hope you know this means I’m not going to try and be friends with your brothers, right?”

Christian nodded, not really questioning her response. He was being serious when he said he wanted Milo to like him, but he wanted things with Rory to be in a really good place before he really tried. God forbid things didn't work out between them- then what would happen? He shook his head, not allowing his thoughts to go any further than there. He almost snorted when she mentioned his brothers. "First of all, it'd be weird if you were their friend for obvious reasons. Although Ian is actually really cool. Griffin...is Griffin. I've tried talking to him recently and all I can read from his texts are anger and dislike and I don't understand it. I get that we don't have to be bestfriends but he acts like we aren't even brothers."

Rory shook her head. “I don’t come from a big family. I just have issues sharing what’s mine. My old kindergarten teacher could probably tell you that much.” She shrugged her shoulder before she wrapped her arms around herself. She watched him with curiosity. They were still getting to know each other so Rory took every encounter with him a chance to take little bits and pieces of information and string them together. She bristled at the mention of her brother before she instantly laughed it off, trying to push out the thoughts of earlier. “I don’t know. He’s a little strange. Do you really want to be his friend?”

"I'm sure she would tell me that you were the one kid who never shared your crayons. Being possessive over the things you like is acceptable, I think." Christian gave her a goofy grin, nodding his head seriously. "Have you not met me? I'm also weird. I absolutely want to be your brothers friend. And I want him to be mine too. And then you would get nothing but high fives for dating someone so awesome. I'd like if it your family liked me." He added quietly. His thoughts drifting to his own and whether or not they would like Rory. Across the table from him was a girl he could see everybody loving though, in their own way.

Rory almost wanted to draw out the ordering process for as long as she could but she didn’t want it to seem like she was avoiding the subject, even if she was. Her fingers tapped along the table and the corners of her lips twitched in a smirk. “Well that just sounds like a whole lot of your fault now, doesn’t it? You should know better than to go around saying you’re going to eat someone’s food. That’s a touchy subject for people.”

"The only people I really can see being touchy about that are people in huge families who had to fight for dinner. I have no idea why that's where my my mind goes first, but there it is." He laughed and shrugged his shoulders. For a moment he just closed his eyes, happy to be breathing fresh air. The night was filled with possibilities and he loved that. "I'm glad it's not cold out tonight." He said softly, not really trying to make conversation about the weather but just pointing it out. His eyes opened and he smiled at her. He was happy. "So do you think your brother will adopt me as his bestfriend?"

Rory picked up her napkin and threw it at his face. “You’re supposed to take me seriously, not laugh. Shut the hell up.” She fell back in her seat and rolled her eyes. As he spoke, she could feel the smile dropping from her face it wasn’t in the way where he was making her feel uncomfortable. She was simply just listening to what he had to say and given all of her attention to his words. The game had taken a turn that she hadn’t been ready for. Her eyes searched his face and before she could open her mouth to respond a waiter came up to table asking if they were ready to order and Rory was happy for the interruption. It gave her time to gather her thoughts.

Christian was waiting to hear what she would say, if she even had anything to add at all. As the waiter interrupted, he had to stop from groaning. Poor timing, that's all it was. He ordered his dinner, waiting for Rory to order what she wanted before handing his menu off. The whole process probably took less than five minutes, though to Christian it felt like ten years. He took a sip of his water. He started playing with the rim again. "Can I also add that she threatens me if I say I'm going to eat her food? Cause I like that about her too."

She narrowed her eyes and pointed a finger at him. “Touch my food and I will end you.” Her voice took a dark tone before her face broke out into a smile and she laughed, leaning back in her chair. She shifted in her seat and nodded her head. “She sounds like a smart girl. A very smart girl. You should keep her around. Tell me more about her.” It was a cute game, enough to keep the smile on her face though at this point he didn’t really need to try very hard to put her in a good mood. “I will keep that in mind.”

He started to laugh, like really laugh, at the way her voice dropped. He held up his hands defensively. "Alright, alright. I won't touch your food. Only because I'm slightly convinced that you're going to murder me." He rolled his eyes playfully, leaning back in his chair again. "Well, you see, I haven't known her too long. Although compared to some of the couples I've seen around here it's been a little bit. She's beautiful in every sense of the word- a lot bossy at times, but I kind of like it. She has all these walls up- which is understandable- but I think she's finally started letting them down for me. When we hang out, it's never awkward. Even our silences are comfortable. And I know that nothing lasts forever but to be honest, I wouldn't mind it too much if this did." He blushed a little. "I think I could spend the rest of my life with her and still learn something new, even at like 90 years old. She's exciting, and I like that."
