The Lord our God has been extremely gracious to Jasmine and I over the past few years and he has used you all to be a big part of that. We have seen you support us and the Story Team ministry through prayer and financial contributions, coaching and advising Jasmine and I through our engagement and first year of marriage, even simply loving us with meals and fellowship. We are eternally grateful for the way that God has used each of you and your families to come alongside of us for the purpose of allowing us to serve the Church and loving us as the family of God.
When thinking back on these past two years of this residency we remember wonderful notes of God’s love spoken through the lips of the Lundin’s during happy hours; the amazing contributions of the Westbrook’s, who don’t even attend the Stone, and simply wanted to love this church through us; the English’s for blessing us with encouragement and wisdom as we pursued our new marriage; and the Fuller’s for exhorting and reminding us of the Gospel weekly. The list can obviously go on and on, but we want you all to know that it has been one of the most impactful times in mine and Jasmine’s lives and we cannot express our thankfulness for each of you enough. Our hearts are full and encouraged through God using you all in your own special ways. Praise be to God for using the body in such a way that he demonstrates his perfect love for us through these small parts!
It is with great excitement and joy that we tell you I have accepted a staff position with The Austin Stone as the South & West Campus Production Coordinator! As Jasmine and I examined what we would be pursuing this coming season after the residency, we settled on the truth that as followers of Christ one of our loftiest goals should be drawing more people to worship God for who he is and what he has done us. I have been allowed to do that through Story Team during this residency and as we were talking with leadership about this potential position with Production, we realized that this was yet another way that God was presenting us the opportunity to do this for this coming season.
I have been serving on the production team roughly as long as I have been with Story Team and with how closely tied Story Team and ASWorship have become over the past few years, it has been a very natural transition over to the team. I have already started visiting and engaging with the campuses I will be working with in this role and will begin full time September 1st.
This role is a salaried position at the church and as such we will be asking that all of you suspend your financial contributions to my intern account after your August contributions have been completed. However, I do want to encourage each of you to continue giving as you are able. If you would like to continue by supporting the work of the Story Team, please consider giving to one of the incoming interns such as Jesse Witt. I will be maintaining a periodic email and blogging presence through this new ministry opportunity, so please let me know if you want to be removed from this list, otherwise I will continue to keep you updated as time goes on.
All contributions to my account will be suspended after August 31st, but if you would like to ensure that your donations are correctly closed or migrated, please follow the link contained in your last receipt email from Acceptiva.
Truly, this season of our lives in ministry with the Story Team would not have been possible without God through you. We may have been the hands, but your prayers are the blood in our veins; we may have been the feet, but your constant encouragement is the energy in our stride. We cherish this season that God granted us through you all and am excited to see how he uses all of us in the advancement of his kingdom. It has truly been an honor to be a recipient of your gracious response to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Praying for Jesus’ holy name to be exalted tomorrow and in this age to come.
Your brother and sister and co-laborers in Christ,
