MARIANA.

mariana needed a stress relief– knowing that her anxiety was the worst whenever march was coming around. she despised the month and wished she could just sleep through it, the thoughts and the hurt still very real after all these years. it was midweek and she had work in the next morning but the brunette knew she had to do something to get her mind off of the memories, that yet loathing, she’s grown so familiar with. 10:00pm on the clock and mari found herself on her favorite bar across town, shrugging at the figure across the pool table.

 “ just consider yourself warned. ” she let out with a chuckle, the cue in her hand pointing to the pile of 500 bucks on the wooden surface. “ you’re about to lose that. ”

     bars weren’t christopher’s usual scene. he preferred getting drunk at home where he couldn’t do anything stupid or irrational or life threatening and away from other drunk people, most of whom smelled bad or had no boundaries. tonight was an exception. there wasn’t any specific reason he’d decided that tonight was the first time in a long time that he’d go out aside from a desire to not stay at home alone once again. 

     “it’s nice that you think that.” there was a laugh in his voice as he spoke, showing just how amusing he found her words. “it’ll be such a shame to prove you wrong. oh wait, no it won’t.”

GENEVIEVE.

“So, this morning a man was arrested for letting their ten year old drive and I just… Can’t comprehend why they would think that’s a good idea in the first place? I swear that crazier things are happening every single day. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever seen or heard about?”

     “i once had a client whose ex-wife was sending her death threats because she thought my client had stolen one of her kittens. turns out the momma cat had just hidden it in a closet. can’t really blame her though, i’d hide my children from that woman too.”
