First day of the rest of our life 27/3/18
To those of you that don't know who I am, my name is Chris Wilton. My parnter Jaydene and I moved to Melbourne from Adelaide a few years ago to "chase our dreams" and by that I mean, work had been slowing down in Adelaide and I couldn't see myself getting anywhere living there. So put my feelers out and came across a job as a mechanical engineer here in Melbourne, i drove 10 hours for a meeting and to look for a house. First open house I went to I got 😎.. within 2 weeks I was living in Melbourne (big shock to the system)
My partner got a transfer a few weeks after, but before she arrived I "accidentally" adopted a gorgeous husky named Bandit! We went through the motions for the next couple years thriving in our new environment and had some absolutely amazing times (including adopting another white husky named Blizzard on Christmas eve)
So that brings us to now..
I have some innovative inventions and ideas that I came up with over the years but didn't know how to get them going. So with the support of my amazing partner and soul mate I strived to get knowledge and learn, learn, learn. I started with a few online courses such as business foundations, marketing strategies and even ip law.. Now I'm not in any sense saying that I'm an expert on these subjects, but i now at least have a better understanding of them. I am constantly reading and listening to audiobooks (total listening time so far is 135 hours and 46 mins) and watching influencers on youtube/facebook/instagram/twitter (you get the idea). I've also been attending networking events to expand my network and meet new people (loving it) people are awesome!
The whole reason I wanted to start documenting this process is to show how much effort and time Jay and I are putting into our new direction and life.
Jaydene also found out today that she is now the new Store Manager of the Hawksburn store (she's such a hustler and am incredibly proud of her) she is my main motivation to be a better person and i want to provide for my family.
Luke whos a good friend has been working on a website the last month or so and i can never thank him enough (he also helped us move house from Knoxfield to Rowville) Luke is a web designer and offered to help design and code a website from scratch (what a legend right)
Last week I caught up with another friend, John, for dinner in the city. I wanted info on business loans to help fund my business venture, but what I got in return was a bombardment of helpful information, tips and even teed up meeting with some hefty contacts and i also sensed a hint of excitement. From that meeting I knew I wanted him on my side, so I asked if he wanted to be a part of it. He was thrilled 👍
I'm still working fulltime as a service engineer in the CBD but laying the foundations of my business/personal brand so I can eventually do it fulltime.
(Writing this while on my way to the city for work)
