This freaking illustration took me like at least 22 hours to make. (Of course I took breaks while working on it). I'm not completely happy with it but I need to stop working on it or I will go crazy.
Anyways, so warlocks are the most interesting class in dnd lore wise in my opinion. You really can do anything you want with their patron. They could be your lover who wants to keep you safe or an evil demon who you made a Faustian bargain with. It gives you a jumping point for character creation... the deal and their patron, those two things dictate a lot about your character.
My character, Jangle, has a strange relationship with his patron, Midas. As a child, Jangle sold his name and memories to Midas and began performing in The Golden Touch, a very famous circus troupe. Jangle sees Midas as a sort of father figure, Midas sees Jangle as a product to be sold to the masses, his greatest product yet.
While Jangle outwardly lives a carefree and luxurious life to his fans, being famous isn't quite easy; You stop being a person, you turn into an item. Despite all that... all the things he's been through, that has torn him apart and turned him into a shell of his former self, he still holds onto to this idealized vision of his patron. To some extent, being hurt by Midas is the best thing to Jangle. It means he is worthy of even being acknowledged by him. Deep down Jangle knows this is awful for him, but he craves it. He craves the suffering his patron inflicts upon him. Hurting someone is how you show you care...right?
