Hi, Ellen here, I'm 20 and I'm starting university to study fine art after two years deferring my place. I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, PoTS, Gastroparesis and a bunch of other fun stuff. This blog is to record my journey as a disabled, chronically ill artist and see how well I can survive university and leaving home!

I passed my first semester !

I just thought I'd update this this blog and let you all know I'm still alive, I survived my first semester of university.

AND I even passed all 3 of my modules! With 2:1's in all 3 modules. A 2:1 is the equivalent of a B. So I'm very happy with myself.

Let me know how you guys did your last semester! Are you happy, are there things you need to change or improve?

Is there any advice you folk further in your education have for me ?

I am so sorry I haven't kept this blog up to date. But I have been extremely busy with university life.

I hope to make a few posts on my experiences but they won't be regular and I don't know when.

I just want to say life can be crazy but I am really enjoying myself right now but I'm very busy and I don't want to commit to something that could complicate things. But I really hope that I can still help people or shed light on things with a few posts here and there.

I hope everyone is doing well and had a good start to the new year !

Moved in

I've moved in, I'm in my accommodation. It was very straight forward process. I've set up my GP and my insurance and my food card.

I'm catered so I don't have a living area, so I met all of my flat mates in the canteen. It also means because I have the biggest room it is now the hangout, which is pretty cool.

The only problem I'm having at the moment is that the short cut are all inaccessible so I have to go the long way round the accommodations or go through two building with a lot of doors.

I've been to the student union, had a few drinks but me and some of my flat mates came back to have coffee (chai latte for me) and chill before going to bed. I really like my roommates I am so lucky.

Last minute packing

So I'm moving into my accommodation tomorrow and I'm just finishing up packing my medications.

Look at this mess! A weeks work of meds so I survive freshers.

Hopefully I can sleep now, I have a 5am start so I can move into my room on time. Wish me luck.

My First Post !

Hi, Ellen here, I'm 20 and I'm starting university to study Fine Art after two years deferring my place. I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, PoTS, Gastroparesis and a bunch of other fun stuff.

I've been waiting to start uni for the last two years but because of my health I had to wait. And I'm really glad I did, I'm in a lot better place next w and I feel ready to begin my journey.

This blog is to record my journey as a disabled, chronically ill, art student and see how well I can survive university and leaving home! So please follow me on this journey.
