IN THE NAME OF PERSEPHONE, THE QUEEN... OPEN THE GATES!
hello and welcome everyone! my name is lumiya and this is an indie rp blog for persephone from supergiant’s hades, with influences from greek mythology and my own headcanons. here’s some important points to know about my portrayal:
i’m using my own headcanons and various myths about persephone to fill in any gaps in her story. for example, her father is iasion, who was a mortal lover of demeter in the myths, pirithous and theseus’ attempt to kidnap her from the underworld, among others
she’s not white. i won’t budge on it and i’m even editing the in-game portraits of her to reflect this
as much as i adore hades and persephone, their marriage isn’t the greatest regardless of the source material. it wasn’t healthy and the problems between them led to her eventually running away from it all. with that in mind, i’m not going to overlook their problems just for the romance -- especially since tumblr likes to romanticize it and make AUs from it. let’s fix a marriage from the bottom up, folks. i’m all for the hardship that comes with it
likewise, she and her mother, demeter, have a rocky relationship as well. demeter coddled her terribly and kept her from growing into her own person for a long time. but just like with her relationship with hades, i’d love to build their relationship too and see it get to a place where it’s healthy!
