Send me a ♠ for my muse to tell your muse what they hate about them.
“I don’t know, I don’t think it’d be fair to hate you for the things you make me feel because I like those things, love them even...sometimes...depending I guess...or that when I’m with you or around you and sometimes even when I’m not anymore that I have to think about things I’ve done or do that hurt people. I don’t like those things, but again, I don’t think it’s fair to hate that about you when it’s not really your fault.”
OR send ♥ for my muse to tell yours what they love about them.
“I love that you’re as weird as I am, and that you understand me and the things I enjoy like other people don’t or can’t.”

“Do you want to find this scalpel in your eye? Because you’re well on the path to doing so.” Feelings for the man aside, she still despised him interfering with her work. As if she wasn’t perfectly aware of the blood. She merely hadn’t gotten to it yet.
As per usual, he completely ignored her hostile tone and waved it off easily, his own excitement and intrigue clouding any of his other thoughts. “No, no, not there, here,” he said, reaching across the table and grabbing her by the forearm, tugging her around the table to his side so she could see what he was looking at. ( See, this was precisely why it was difficult to be standing on opposite sides of the table...though luckily they were in this scenario. ) “Look, here, behind her ear...it’s just a small spot, mistaken for a freckle in the preliminary examination but look at it closely, it’s blood! This is a whole new clue, it changes everything! I wonder if there’s anything else hidden we couldn’t see before...” he added, looking around eagerly on the body before turning back to Melinoe excitedly.

At the prospect of going to Columbia University for a symposium, Thanatos had been thrilled. After all that had recently transpired, an entire day dedicated to talking about and listening to others share research and knowledge relating to dead bodies would be a nice distraction. Though he’d foolishly not thought that if he would be attending, so too would Melinoe.
The first he’d seen her, he had made himself scarce...not out of desire himself not to see her, but assuming she wouldn’t want to see him. With how he’d treated her, he wouldn’t have blamed her and thus saw no reason to force his presence on her when she was likely just as excited about it all as he was and he didn’t want to ruin it. For people like them, any chance they got to be immersed in macabre topics and not feel out of place, it was a relief.
Yet he’d been meaning to speak with her again ever since he’d let all those emotions back in...all those memories and apologize to her. He knew he’d said he was sorry already but both of their emotions had been running so high at the time that he’d hardly gotten to say all that needed to be said. Not to mention he’d needed a bit of time to let things settle before he could really make sense of it all. So eventually he’d sought her out in between lectures, standing behind her while she finished her conversation, clearing his throat to catch her attention when those she’d been speaking to made their leave.
Not having much work of his own to do that day, Tristan, or Thanatos as he used to be known by, decided he wanted to try to see for himself what exactly it was that his fellow diving being did in her examinations. Perhaps if he could watch her at it, he’d be able to make sense of all the errors in her findings. If he could pinpoint what it was she was doing, he could even show her how to do it properly. Then he wouldn’t have to spend so much of his time correcting things for her.
He’d yet to have met her in person...Giselle he thought her name was here, though he knew her better as Melinoe, but naturally in their shared profession he had heard of her and knew who she was and what she looked like. She was absent from the morgue when he entered, but this did not deter him. Undoubtedly she would be back soon, he had been assured she was working that day. So he simply stood waiting for her, a politely eager smile on his face, tapping his foot lightly on the cold hard floors, the sound reverberating off the walls as he looked around idly. Most of why he was there was simply in hopes of finding a solution to all his wasted time nitpicking at Melinoe’s findings, yet there was an equally large part of him that was wholly thrilled at being able to watch someone else work. Everyone’s process was different and he so rarely got to see anyone else at it. He couldn’t help get excited at the prospect, usually the one to be doing the work rather than observing. The young man was simply fascinated by the idea and thought it a wonderful opportunity.
