The scariest part of IT: chapter two isn’t the evil clown or the jump scares or that weird naked lady. It’s the very first scene, before we even see Pennywise itself. It’s not the demonic, physical representation of all evil. It’s the homophobic gang that beats up the gay couple in the opening scene. It’s the real violence by real people. The kind of violence that actually happens, every day.
