                - a very specific requested one shot -  Â
The scene that had unwound before you caused a tremor of disbelief throughout your body.
 There he wasâŠwith her â arms around her, back of his head towards you, unaware of your existence. And, for a split second, you thought that he was doing it on purpose.
 You couldnât bring yourself to think of it or remind yourself of it, but the word appeared in the blackness of your mind like a magicianâs trick.
 You thought it was ridiculous to celebrate such a thing, but the boy you had just started seeing thought it was absolutely adorable to celebrate it.
 Which made the scene before you seem even more heart-breaking.
 You had planned a lot for the day â even got him a present, but here he was, shoving his tongue down another girlsâ throat.
 âWhatâŠâ you began mindlessly, unable to stop the words from escaping. The present you heldâa small box carrying a pricey watchâfell to the ground, finally bringing his (and her) attention to you.
 He appeared to be mildly startled before his mind could process the person standing to his right â you, in your prettiest dress and all dolled up to look good for him. His eyes widened the moment he realized who he was staring at, and immediately, he opened his mouth to explain.
 âOh!â he exclaimed, as though incredibly surprised to see you there. âY/N! I donât think youâve met my colleagueâŠâ he was beginning to lose his words and you could see right through the lie.
 Rage fired up inside of you, like a storm just beginning to brew. It wasnât the fact that he was cheating on you that pissed you off to such lengths â it was the fact that he made you feel special enough to celebrate something as cheesy as dating for a month; the fact that he played you like a fiddle.
 You grunted before saying, âWhateverâ, and picking up the box that you accidentally dropped. He was speaking; you could hear him as clear as day, but you werenât listening to a word he was saying, and walked away.
What made everything ten times more depressing was the fact that you had plans that same night. He was a part of those plans, but you were hoping that he wouldnât be thereâŠbut also hoping that he would â for what reason, you didnât know,
 You were sitting on the edge of your bed, your phone glued to the palm of your hand but your eyes glued to the ceiling as you wondered how to dress for tonight.
 Being depressed and staying home would only lead to an endless night of tears â this was something you knew, so going out was something you wanted to do.
 Your phone began to ring, making your heart jump. You expected to see his name when you looked down, but instead saw someone elseâs.
 âJeonâŠJungkook?â you questioned as your heart slowly sank.
 Heâs not someone youâve known for so long, nor was he someone you were ever close to, so it was strange receiving a call from him.
 You breathed in deeply, preparing yourself for the call and making sure you sounded as normal as possible.
 âAh, ah! Hello, Y/N!â he started. He sounded cheerful and it made you smile a bit.
 âHey, JungkookâŠum, whatâs up?â
 You were both flustered since the conversation was an awkward one to have; you only met up with him a couple of times, and barely interacted with each other during those times.
 âY/N, they told me to call you for the hangoutâŠand to ask if youâre dressed and ready to go. Weâll be there in aboutâŠtwenty minutes or so.â He explained slowly and almost hesitantly. âDo you need a ride or will your boyfriend take you?â
 The mention of the word âboyfriendâ instantly felt like a slap in the face.
 âI think Iâll be going there aloneâŠâ you said, after a few seconds of being lost in your emotions.
 âOhâŠyou donât need a ride?â
 âNo, thanksâŠI can go there on my own.â
 âAlright, see you there.â
 You were having second thoughts, but decided that,
 I need to suck it upâŠand just go.
The night passed by in a blur.
 You were upset but not upset, and you were present but not present. You had a few laughs but they were immediately forgotten. It almost felt as though you drank an alcoholic beverage; toxic and fickle. A couple times, you checked your phone, to see if you received a call or a text from him that you mightâve missed â but nothing.
 As the night was coming to an end, you wrapped your arms around your folded legs, waiting for your emotions to shift. The wind briefly blew in your direction, and for a split-second, you almost felt refreshed and relieved.
 Nowâs not the time to be upsetâŠ
 You lifted your head and turned to the voice that called out to you; Jeon Jungkook stood to your right, looking at you with curious eyes and the littlest of smiles.
 What does it look like, you thought to yourself and almost said it aloud, but the innocence along his features prevented the snappy remark from exiting.
 Jungkook wasnât the type to ask such a question; he seemed curious but never acted upon his curiosity â from what youâve gathered, anyway. The way he asked and the way he stood beside you really revealed how awkward he was.
 âIâm okay.â You said, looking away temporarily before looking to him once again.
 âIs your boyfriend coming to join us soon?â
 You were tired of hearing about him; tired of how everyone kept bringing him up as though he were already a part of you.
 So you answered Jungkook honestly, by saying,
 He looked taken aback for before his features relaxed again.
 âOhâŠIâm sorry about that.â Was all he said.
 Guess heâs not really the type to comfort, you thought as you mindlessly looked him over.
 Jungkook wasnât looking at you anymore; instead, it appeared as though he were looking for something to say within the horizon ahead of the both of you.
 âUhâŠâ you heard him mutter beneath his breath. âDo you want anything? I can get you something maybe?â
 He was flustered and awkward and you couldnât help but giggle a bit.
 âItâs okay,â you smiled. âWhatâs your life like?â
 Whyâs he always surprised when I ask him somethingâŠ?
 âI spend most of my time with Taehyung,â he grinned. âBut other daysâŠâ
 He was still talking. He was.
 But you werenât with him anymore.
 âHuh?â you shook your head. âAh, sorryâŠIâm a bit out of itâŠitâs a bit ridiculous.â
 âNo, no, I guess I understand, a bitâŠâ he actually sat beside you this time. âIt must be hardâŠIâve never had a break up before and Iâm not really good at cheering people up or comforting themâŠso Iâm not really sure what to do.â
 âItâs no problem. I thinkâŠnot being alone is enough for now.â You mumbled, hoping he had heard you.
 âHmâŠI know we havenât known each other for long, but Iâm cheering for you. Youâre, umâŠnice.â
 He was smiling, ever so amiably and bashfully, when you looked at him.
 âThank you,â you smiled back, oddly relieved that it was him that was speaking to you and not someone else. âThat means a lot to me.â
 It fell silent between you and every time you glanced at him, he looked away.
 The air grew heavier once you noticed it.
 âIs something wrong?â you asked.
 The boys and girls behind you two were loud all of a sudden; you looked over your shoulder to see them with wide smiles along their faces â and they seemed pretty excited for some reason. They were calling out to Jungkook, but he didnât look at them.
 âCan we go somewhere a bit moreâŠquiet?â he asked politely.
 You agreed to his request after a momentsâ thought, and stood up.
