INDEFINITE SEMI HIATUS
I’m not sure how much energy I can put towards this blog, so I’m now in a bit of a hiatus. I might still lurk, and I’ll be on Skype if people need me. I’ll probably come back sometime near the end of April, after exams.

INDEFINITE SEMI HIATUS
I’m not sure how much energy I can put towards this blog, so I’m now in a bit of a hiatus. I might still lurk, and I’ll be on Skype if people need me. I’ll probably come back sometime near the end of April, after exams.
Of course he knew him; weeks prior to flying in, they required him to grasp a comprehensive overview of his assigned person. Alfred maintained his grin, unfazed by the distrustful look he was getting. Having already worked with a number of eastern associates, he was accustomed to their general reluctance to hire those from the other hemisphere. “Right you are, Jin. I know a bit about about you, but not too much.” For example, he didn’t know his favorite color nor his favorite animal yet.
Why, how very kind of him to ask. Hmm, let’s see… “Deferred controversial recreations operative, second tier logistics and intelligence analyst for a smattering of transnational enterprises, professional racketeer, etc.” He knew how to keep himself busy. “A little spat between me and my last affiliate ended with a compromise that I break off and work as an independent.”
Requesting some guesswork from the other side couldn’t hurt. “Your pop didn’t tell you where I’m from?” Let’s see if Jin can nail it on the first try. “How ‘bout you take a guess? Because I’m generous guy, I’ll give you a hint: I’m in no way British or French.”
He crossed his legs, watching him carefully. It had less to do with race than it did pure survival, and tradition. This was a bit of an odd thing for his father to decide to do, after all.
“Interesting. I’m sure you know what you’re doing, then,” he replied.
Guess? He barely had to guess. Between the other’s appearance, name, and accent, it was easy to tell he must’ve been an American of some sort. His back was straight and his head tilted as he pretended to think.
With a smirk, he said, “American, I’m sure.” He didn’t feel the need to explain himself, not to Alfred, anyways. Not yet.
“Do I go down now?” Brushing aside his bangs, a figure in casual dress stood between two of his employer’s sentries, eyeing the inconspicuous form of a handgun tucked under their suit jackets. They didn’t even look at him. “Am I supposed to go meet them now? Still no answer. ”…Alright.“ He had no choice but to wait; one step too far and they’d shoot him in the foot.
A series of misconducts ended with him deferring from his central branch to become an independent contractor who offered a variety of services—one of which was serving as a bodyguard. Going through this family’s set procedures for background checks was a real pain in the ass; they just had to investigate him a third time to make sure he wasn’t an undercover foreign operative. Whatever. All that matters is that he’ll earn a good salary here. Money is the prime motivator; it’s something worth killing for.
At last, the two stone-faced bouncers gestured for him to descend. It’s about time. He walked into the basement room, a showy, business smile plastered on his face. "Good afternoon! How’re we all doin’ now?” The American first approached his employer and gave him a firm handshake, ignoring the simultaneous click of two semi-automatics from the men behind him. “Yes, sir. I’m the same Jones you mistook for a spy.” He didn’t mention their failed assassination attempt from before. “Never mind that. The past is the past.” Turning to Jin, the person he was assigned to watch over, Alfred extended an arm and offered another handshake. “Pleasure to meet you. My name’s Alfred. We’re gonna have to get to know each other real soon.”
He looked over the other, in near shock. He was expecting someone a little more... Well, Korean, or at least Asian. He didn’t know his father had stepped outside of the family to find someone. Was he that desperate, or that worried? Jin didn’t know, and felt no need to ask him.
Reaching forward with a tentative hand, he shook the other’s lightly. Suspicion abound, Jin found himself watching the other through narrowed eyes.
“Yes, I suppose that’s true,” he replied, “Though I take it you already know who I am.”
The guards in the back weren’t the only ones who were armed. Jin was small, but he was a good shot. Guns had been a hobby of his for years, and he always carried something with him. For protection, of course. Still, in turbulent times like these, an extra gun at your side couldn’t hurt.
“What are your qualifications, Jones? Surely you came from... Somewhere.”

Sometimes, life in a criminal syndicate wasn’t all that easy. Jin had a family connection, a family commitment, and couldn’t just leave, despite how he may have wanted to. No, he was needed for his planning skills, for how he could shuffle drugs around the country seamlessly. His routes were well looked after, and for that, he was valuable.
The recent increases in inter-gang related violence had rattled Jin and his family. His father, especially, felt they all needed some extra protection. Because of this, Jin had been assigned a body guard. Whether it was temporary or not, he wasn’t sure but he knew it would be useful for the time being.
Sitting in the basement of his parent’s bar, he waited alongside his father to meet their new staff member. He had been assured this guard was good, and loyal, but a meeting in familiar, controlled territory couldn’t hurt, right?
Smol And Tol Prompts
• Tol is reading a book and Smol snuggles up under their arm
• Smol can’t reach something so Tol picks them up
• Tol is the soft gentle kind half of the OTP and Smol is a tiny ball of rage
• Smol always likes to compare height and hand sizes to Tol and always stands on their tiptoes so they can be taller but then Tol just ends up lifting Smol into the air
• Tol always uses Smol as an armrest to annoy them
• Smol sometimes gets mistaken for a young child and gets all defensive so Tol has to calm them down

“I don’t know what you mean --”
“Neither have I. But when he does come back you should try being with him. He’s a good man and a good…partner, I’ve heard. If you like things rough, anyway.”
“Oh, well, I think we’re already on the path to that -- But I’ve yet to actually... You know.”
Travis was the opposite when it came to height and looks. If it wasn’t for his scent he could have passed for an alpha easily. “Is there anywhere you need to go specifically?” Other then here of course, that would be silly to stay here where you are uncomfortable. Travis had been dragged here by a classmate, but he would happily leave.
“Well, I just need to get to the bus stop,” he said, “but it’s a bit crowded around here.” He said, sighing a little. He stepped closer to the other, clearly nervous in his surroundings.
“Are you sure you’re okay with walking me there?”
“I wouldn’t say that.” She pulled out her phone and immediately started thumbing through her contacts. “Do you know Rainer?”
“Yes --” he said, “but I haven’t seen him in a bit...”

“I mean, depending on the scene...”
“I sympathize with your pain. The man I have a casual dalliance with has been absenting himself lately and I’ve been left high and dry as a result.”
“Casual intimacy could be an alternative, but it seems like that well has run dry too...”
