Scars from self-harms ≠ Failure or weakness

Scars from self-harms are not marks of your failures or weakness. Consider them as your battle scars. Scars from self-harms are the symbol of the battle that you have fought. You might or might not win the battle. But losing a battle does not mean you lost in a war.
Scars from self-harms are not something that you need to be ashamed of or something to jokes with. It’s simply a remembrance of a battle that we have fought in a war called life.
Never treat someone who has done self-harms or suicidal attempts as a weak person. Yes, they might have drop into their darkest and lowest pat of their life. But hey, they are still here, aren’t they? They have won the battle against themselves. Be proud of how strong they are. Show them how proud you are of them who managed to overcome their fears and bad feelings by always be there for them.
