lately, it's been difficult for me to manage eye contact with someone else (either it's someone I know or don't). Whenever I speak, or ask, I always stutter or avert my gaze. When I walk down the hall, or eat my lunch, I usually eat alone and think that everyone's staring at me or secretly judging me. It's tiring me out, and it makes me just want to be alone. Avoid any human contact. But in my everyday life, it's inevitable as I work in an office. Can you please give me an advise?
I have heard about looking at a persons eyebrows or nose when they talk, so it seems like you’re looking at their faces, but it sounds like you’re dealing with some bad anxiety, and it would improve if that got some treatment, especially the Hypervigilance which is know to cause exhaustion. My advice is to please see someone about this. Whether you do talk therapy or medications to manage anxiety, or a combination of both, seeking professional help would be a huge benefit to you. I have severe anxiety, to the point where I would get sick after a phone call. I was also an assistant manager at a restaurant. Anxiety is something that can be managed with proper treatments, you’re not alone, and there is a lot you can do to help manage symptoms. I’m always here if you want to talk
