Astraea here. I’ve come with news that I finished rewatching the entirety of BlazBlue Radio and uploaded all the insert images to the Wiki. You can find them in the respective character’s gallery or you can look at them by episode on each season’s page. This was a difficult job, but it’s something I’ve always been meaning to do. Sadly I haven’t uploaded all the chibi portraits yet among other details but I need to rest.
Wanna thank @lawfulevilchao for setting up the automated gallery and helping out with some episodes.
(Also I’m using the Vector theme for the Wiki, you can change the Wiki’s theme if you have an account.)

Wanna make a post asking for help with quotes, but I’m too tired too make a formal one.
tl;dr if you have BBCF on steam you can help rip audio and we need that. I’m currently the only one on staff who works on audio files.

Extracting Music from Blazblue Games (PC)
I’ve been into Blazblue so much since mid-2018, and since there’s little discussion about it, I figured I’d explain how you can extract music from Calamity Trigger, Chronophantasma Extend and Central Fiction on PC. This is especially nice when some of the songs (particularly Silent Scream and most Central Fiction music) never got officially released. But please, buy the official soundtracks where you can with the Blazblue games.
So what you’ll need overall are four programs to extract the audio. These being:
Aluigi’s QuickBMS (https://aluigi.altervista.org/quickbms.htm) This is to extract various files used in various games.
Note: You’ll also need to download the script files that allow QuickBMS to know what file it’s attempting to extract. In this case, we need arcsys.bms as we’re dealing with Blazblue games.
Quick Wave Bank (https://forums.terraria.org/index.php?threads/quick-wave-bank-an-easy-no-hassle-wave-bank-creator.61813/) This is just for Blazblue: Chronophantasma .pac files.
Aluigi’s unxwb (https://aluigi.altervista.org/papers/unxwb.zip) This is just for Blazblue: Central Fiction .pac files.
Audacity (https://www.audacityteam.org/download/) Somewhat optional, but I use it if I want to edit the audio at the end or export the file as an MP3.
The files you see in the Sound folder (in the game’s installation location) are all .pac files. However, how the audio has been compressed/archived varies for each game. That’s why you cannot extract Chronophantasma .pac files in the same way as Central Fiction .pac files.
Make sure you copy the .pac files you’re extracting just to be safe, although Steam can redownload them if needed.
Blazblue: Calamity Trigger
Simply drag the .pac file into Audacity and re-export it as a playable audio file (wav, MP3, etc.). That’s it. (This worked for the music but I haven’t tried for other sounds like voice clips and the like).
Blazblue: Chronophantasma Extend
1. Run QuickBMS to extract the .pac file. It’ll prompt you the following in this order:
Select the .bms file. So that QuickBMS knows what it’s extracting, you’ll need to select arcsys.bms
Select the .pac file you want to extract.
Select where to save the extracted files.
At this point, you’ll have new folders titled what the pac files were, and inside them individually you’ll have an .xsb file and .xwb file. The .xwb has the audio in it, so we’ll be extracting from that.
2. Open Quick Wave Bank and select ‘Extract’.
3. Select the .xwb you want to extract from, and where to save it.
4. Wait for the file to extract and view the .wav file when it’s completed!
Blazblue: Central Fiction
1. Run QuickBMS, and repeat the prompts.
2. Open unxwb, and select the xwb file you want to extract and where to save it. That’s it!
Note that when unxwb extracts any xwb file with audio, it also tells you what format the audio is. When you compare Chronophantasma and Central Fiction’s wav files using unxwb (viewing the output result), the former is WMA and the latter is ADP. It doesn’t explain why though you couldn’t use unxwb to extract a playable wav with Chronophantasma .pac files.
But hopefully if anyone is a music ripper/obsesser and wants the best quality possible instead of YouTube rips or is unsure of other places where the music is kept, that’s how you can get them.
I don’t know about Cross Tag since I don’t have the game, but there is a separate script to extract .pac files with QuickBMS, so give it a shot maybe?
Happy ripping :)

Goodbye (for now?)
Okay I guess we all saw this one coming.
This blog will no longer be active.
Honestly, I’ve been thinking about this for a while now and I guess “BlazBlue” being marked as an NSFW tag really nailed it home for me that Tumblr just isn’t the same as it was and the BlazBlue community on it has really dwindled.
So at 1600 followers, I guess this was a good run, but I want to be clear on several things:
This blog isn’t being “deactivated”. It’s now gonna serve as a kind of archive for old questions, fotds, etc. so everyone can still access it
FOTDs are gone. Honestly, even pushing it back to every week was a stretch for me because I came up with most of them about 3 minutes before they were posted.
I’m really not as strong with BB lore as I used to be. In the past, I used to be a monster but now I’m kinda like a chew toy.
I will still be occasionally posting here. It will mainly be reblogs from the other BlazBlue Wiki staff members (who I’ve been relying on for the last few months for FOTDs actually…)
This kind of blog thrives on receiving questions and, honestly, I haven’t had any really. I guess that’s to be expected, BlazBlue is having a massive dry spell. If BBDW or any other future BB project does really well and is really popular then I’ll come back in a triumphant return!
I have so been struggling to keep this blog alive. With very few facts left to post as well as receiving no questions, it was… difficult. Then I also have my university work (am in my final year so expect graduation photos in many months), social life, my irl job, and working on the BlazBlue Wiki… yikes.
With all those points out of the way, here’s some stuff.
I have a Twitter. I shitpost and retweet more than what should be allowed. It’s here: https://twitter.com/Abyssoftheazure
If you still crave FOTDS, then there is an equivalent called “Did you Know?” which is on the BlazBlue Wiki Twitter. If you have Twitter, definitely follow this account because it’s everything that this blog really could’ve and should’ve been. It’s here: https://twitter.com/BlazBlue_Wiki
If you’re looking for an archive of information for BlazBlue then go to it’s wiki (NOT THE WIKIA). This is the ultimate resource for BlazBlue information and it’s growing more every day. Myself and other editors, particularly @cielsulfur, @ogiga99, and @lawfulevilchao, have worked very hard for the community so that they can enjoy this resource. If you want to, then please help us out and make it even better. The link is here: https://blazblue.wiki/wiki/Main_Page.
This was a lot longer than I was expecting and I’m sorry about all of this. There’s a good chance I’ll return in the future but please follow those Tumblr and Twitter accounts. That way you’ll maybe miss me a little less (and if you’re following my Twitter, you won’t be missing me at all!)
Peace <3

ArcNama Notes - Nov 16, 2018
Notes from November episode of the scheduled, monthly ArcNama livestream. A surprising amount of info this time, maybe ‘cause the anniversary’s just around the corner? (A blog is a place for notes like these right)
1. (3:40) Halloween charms are getting a restock online (they sold out extremely fast at the Halloween Party despite the amount that was prepared)
Will be available at the Arc System Works Online Shop, probably referring to their Broccoli shop?
Preorders open Nov 22.
This online restock will also be a blind box.
The secret charm was Terumi. The restock adds Terumi’s zombie color version, plus some slight changes for the restock (his charms features a pumpkin instead of a skull; the zombie version’s pumpkin glows). Terumi’s theme is the “original devil”, not Beelzebub but Azazel, that sort of feeling?
2. (22:57) Official lines for three specific interaction’s moves (Ragna vs Lambda’s Nightmare Edge, Tager vs Arakune’s GETB, Terumi vs Nine’s Jabaki Fuenjin)
Ozawa is super nice and wanted to reveal more of them but the sheer volume of lines is just too much.
3. (24:28) BlazBlue characters do have ages but they’re secret. Ozawa wanted to confirm with Mori but Mori’s not here today.
The reasoning is something like: If you release their ages it feels like they’ll age; Street Fighter did but it’s continued for 20 years and makes it feel like ah the characters are +20 years (aging as time goes on) it’s less than desirable. This isn’t straight from Mori-P but it’s along these lines (probably).
4. (28:50) Someone asked about Roy’s birthday but they couldn’t get an answer from Mori since he’s too busy right now. Roy should have a birthday (within his setting) though.
The application to this year’s event can be found here~
I am running the Blazblue x Guilty Gear Secret Santa again this year~! I look forward to seeing what wonderful creations we’ll create again this year~! If this event sounds like something that interests you be sure to read the instructions below very carefully~! Let’s have some fun again this year~ <3
What is this Secret Santa? How does this work?:
This Secret Santa is an anonymous art gift exchange. The theme of this event is “Guilty Gear” or “Blazblue” and it is open to artists of all skill levels and mediums! Each artist will request a prompt that will be sent to another artist to draw and receive a prompt to work on for another artist. At the end of the event, all artists will draw a piece of art and receive a piece of art from someone. No artist will share their piece until 12/25.
Even though it will be anonymous and artwork will not be posted until 12/25, there will be opportunities to receive critiques and get feedback on your artwork as you work on it from myself and other artists, if you need it. The goal of this event is to have fun. There will be ways to get support or help throughout the event.
If you have any questions, do not be afraid to ask me~!!
Event Schedule:
(11/12 - 11/23) Application Period. Changes can be made to the application up until 11/23. Feel free to contact me if you’d like changes made.
(11/24 - 11/26) Prompts will be sorted and sent to all artists by email. Once received, the artist may begin work on the prompt they receive.
*new* This year you will receive the name and pages of the person you are drawing for in the same email you recieve their prompt in.
(12/19) I will send an activity check to all participating artists through email. While having an actual work in progress or finished piece to share with me is preferred, as long as you respond to the email, I will consider you still actively involved in the project. If I do not receive any sort of update by 12/21, the prompt is considered abandoned and passed off to a back-up artist.
(12/25) All requests can be posted. Until this time, all Secret Santa artwork submissions must be kept completely secret and anonymous. Time zone does not matter on this day. You can either wait and upload your piece around your recipient’s schedule, post when it is the most convenient to you or post when it is the 25th in the earliest time zone in the world: UTC+14:00. The only thing that matters is that it is the 25th somewhere!
*new* (12/26 - 12/27) I will publicly post the spreadsheet that I use to sort and track artist prompts and submissions. This spreadsheet will include links to find all of the finished pieces as well as show up an up to date status of unfinished, dropped and pieces still needing to be picked up by an artist.
**Remember it is the holidays and you will have 1 month to complete your piece. If you don’t think you can reliably complete a piece timely under these conditions, do not sign up for this event. The success of the event is 100% dependent on artist participation! Do not wait until the last minute to complete your piece. The month will go by fast!
More information is under the cut~!**
