Making a master post for my analysis and theories, so I would not need to look for them in the depths of my blog. The list for sure won’t include every piece ever posted on tumblr, but should have the more ambitious or important project.

I have a lot of ideas I’ve started, but I’ve been MIA and I'm lacking that spark, I want it back. I love my silly ideas. I'm bluntly asking for encouragement if u feel to provide one -_- ty
YES, I'M ALWAYS INTO WITCHER AU! I LOVE THAT SILLY DUMBASS AND THE WHOLE DEVIL DUMBASS PACK :3
I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed that the needed energy will come back to you soon, but if you don't feel like drawing it (which is totally fine and understandable!), you can always share with us some ideas or headcanons. Maybe it will help to light up the spark again? :)
A happy birthday Jadder question to you! :)
Do you think Janosh didn't care much for Ranyek's death precisely because Adder was close to the man? I mean, Adder picked Janosh over loyalty/friendship to Dry Devil and Kubyenka as they run together once Hynek was captured - but then left Janosh in Miskowitz and spent the night drinking with Ranyek and was genuine sad about the man's death, so I assume they were close enough. Adder spending night with women may be annoying for Janosh but Adder is not seeking any emotional/romantic ties with them. However having any strong emotional ties with other men feels like something Janosh could be, well, be worry about? Jealousy may be a too big word, but I think some anger could be involved? Not even at Adder per se but at Ranyek for getting what should be Janosh's time with Adder, maybe?
Just a thought.
And once again, Happy Birthday to you! :)
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE BIRTHDAY WISHES and for sending this ask!!
This got pretty long, and it might cover some things I've talked about before re: timeline of Jadders split/Janosh's personality either here or maybe on my sideblog, so I've put it under the cut.
Actually, I think it's almost flipped- My personal HC on the timeline of the night they got split is something like this:
1. They ran away from the Devils Pack fallout together (as stated in-game, and also because Janosh implies Adder was with him and Adder implies he knew Janosh was in trouble after he got freed by Henry and was like OH GOD JANOSH)
2. Janosh and Adder got drunk, Janosh got snacky, snuck off and attacked the guy and then got locked up
3. Adder (drunk) was like ooohh fuck I can't break you out of here on my own, I'm no good with locks. I'll go get help, Ranyek is nearby
4. Adder got distracted when he went to get Ranyek and ended up partying with him/getting turbo drunk and falling asleep on the butchers doorstep, leading to the cuckold-hanging-scene.
With the idea being that in the "canon" timeline, you have to save Adder first, and then Janosh.
I think the reason Janosh is cold about Ranyek's death and basically brushes it off as "he doesn't deserve help and he didn't want it anyways" is that he's trying to alleviate Adder's feeling of guilt and culpability, and that he is generally a bit colder/uncaring about people's feelings than Adder is (it's Adder who seems to have more emotional intelligence to infer things about Rosa and Katherine, whereas Janosh is pretty uninterested in them)
I personally HC that in their relationship, Adder is the more insecure of the two- Adder is nippy towards Henry when he tries to make friends, and has his famous "What about me??" line, and so I HC that he both doesn't feel a need to make new friends, and could be somewhat jealous if Janosh started making new, close friendships- though, it's easily dismissed by Janosh talking sweet to him "You most!" "I'LL DRINK TO THAT!!!!" (and then Adder is friendlier towards Henry after all, but that's mostly cuz I think despite being a prick he can't help himself from being an extrovert who loves friends/people)
You're welcome and thank you for your insightful reply!
"Adder got distracted" in all fairness, this explains everything, haha. But it would be so sweet if Adder really sought Ranyek to help him save Janosh.
I totally agree that Adder seems to have more emotional intelligence between them two and there is something interesting in how Janosh, the usually nice man, can be much colder than Adder. It is also funny that Adder doesn't care much for Henry saving his life but would be immediately like I LOVE YOU if Henry saved first Janosh, he has very clear priorities when it comes to picking new friends… All you need is either save Janosh or get Janosh’s approval… as long as he is still Janosh's favorite number one XDDD
Alternative title: "I'm sorry I left you in Miskowitz, here is a horse for you" XD

One early morning, Adder came to Henry and borrowed Pebbles for the ride. Or at least Henry thought it was what the man said, as the language barrier got in the way. Adder leaving Devil’s Den was nothing unusual - the man kept disappearing all the time, like some cat. He didn’t say where he was taking his horse, but Henry assumed he was either acting on Zizka’s order or the little snake hidden in his hose.
No one seemed to worry about that. And at first, Henry didn’t think much about it either. But when Adder didn’t come the next day and the next after that, Henry became worried. And not just because the man borrowed his beloved Pebbles although that upsetted him too. So he walked to Zizka to ask what was going on, but the man did not order Adder any special mission. Kubyenka only waved his hand at Henry’s growing concern. And Janosh… well, Henry didn’t feel like asking the man to not upset him more than he already seemed to be.
He didn’t know Janosh that well, but even he could see the man was bothered by Adder’s absence. Sure, he kept smiling, but the warmness didn’t reach his dark eyes and he kept disappearing in the nearest forest, foraging all its goods. The mushroom and herbal picking wasn’t anything new for the man, but it felt to Henry like Janosh was more hiding from rough crowd of Devil’s Den than looking for food.
The more time had passed, the more Henry felt uneasy, his head full of all the worst ways Adder could be killed. By his own reckless nature, by pitchforks of angry villagers, if they didn’t have patience to hang him. By bad luck, if he met Sigismund’s men on his way.
There was also a treacherous, lousy thought, hissing like a poisonous snake buried deep in his mind, that maybe Adder had taken the horse and simply ridden away to get the fuck away from this shitty place and upcoming madness. Even an experienced soldier could have enough, Henry suspected. Or worse, Adder sold them to the enemy, for money was what the mercenary liked the most, wasn’t it?
He didn’t want to believe Adder could be capable of it and the mere thought of such possibility made him feel sick. But it would not be the first time Henry was betrayed. And not the last, he bitterly thought.
The sun was slowly coming down and the Pole still didn’t return. Henry was ready to borrow Kubyenka’s horse and ride around the closest villages, asking at the inns for Adder. But Zizka’s ordered them all to keep a low profile and to not leave the Devil’s Den.
But waiting and doing nothing didn’t sit well with Henry. Never had. It was bad enough he couldn’t help Hans imprisoned by von Bergow - and apparently his lord was not significant enough for Zizka, Hynek or Jobst to worry about. Now, Adder disappeared without a word and no one else, beside him and Janosh, didn’t seem bothered either.
It pissed off Henry.
Having enough of this bullshit, Henry sat down at the table where Dry Devil spent most of the day and finally told Hynek he wanted to go and look for Adder, in case the man got himself, again, in trouble for sleeping with married women. Zizka may give orders here, but Devil’s Pack was Hynek’s band and his word, as nobleman, was as equal as Zizka.
“What is Janosh cooking?” the man asked without a moment of consideration.
“WHAT? Adder is missing and you are asking about food?!” Henry did not hide his anger at Hynek’s lack of care for his own people. The longer he knew the older nobleman, the less and less he liked him.
Hynek however did not even blink an eye at the boy's outburst. He took another sip of alcohol from the mug.
“When Janosh is worried, he is backing pies. A lot of pies. If he is cooking the usual, then Adder is fine and happily shagging some poor bastard’s needy wife and you are making ruckus over nothing.”
Henry was staring at the older man for a long moment. Janosh didn’t bake anything like that but he didn’t act normal either. Which was understandable, as the last time they got separated, Adder was almost hanged.
“And how exactly Janosh can know if Adder is in trouble or not, if he didn’t see him for two days?”
Hynek rolled his eyes, like he was talking to dumb idiot.
“He can’t. But if he is not panicking, it means Adder told him where he headed this time.”
“Told Janosh, but not you?” Henry pointed out, more to annoy Hynek - and maybe to hurt his pride too - than anything else.
Dry Devil growled and the low, angry sound, in a sick way made Henry feel better. But before any of them could say anything else, the familiar neighing of a horse reached his ears. And indeed the moment Henry turned his head toward the less used sideroad, he saw his beloved Pebbles.
Yet Adder didn’t ride on Pebbles but on a different horse, one Henry had never seen before around Kuttenberg, Suchdol or even in Rattay. The mare had a funny coat, deeply brown with white spots on the legs, belly and rump and black, surprisingly long mane. The animal was bigger than his own Pebbles but wasn’t a war horse either. It looked both strong and agile though Hans would definitely tell more about the horse’s building and quality than Henry and it was not the first time a pang of regret hit him at the mere thought of lord Capon’s fate. Henry really missed his friend.
One way or another, the horse looked like a pretty good mount, one that definitely should cost a lot of groschen. Groschen that Adder for sure had not. The fact that man rode on bare horseback using long black mane as reins told Henry everything he needed to know. The beautiful mare was stolen.
That much was about Zizka’s order to keep a low profile.
Dry Devil though didn’t seem bothered by that. Quite the opposite, with a big grin he walked to the horse to admire its beauty.
“Hungarian, heh?” Hynek said after circling the mare. Once Adder nodded, Dry Devil laughed, the throaty, sharp laugh that sent shivers down Henry's spine. Well, at least the Pole robbed the enemy and there should not be any angry mob looking out for him. At least for that horse.
But before Hynek’s fingers had a chance to touch the deep brown horsehair, Adder smacked the outstretched hand with a wild, wolf-life grin of his.
- JAAAAANOSH, CHODŹ! - the man shouted at the top of his lungs. It didn’t take long before Janosh showed up. He walked fast, with a big basket full of mushrooms and herbs in one hand. Henry suspected Janosh was already on his way before Adder even shouted. Maybe the same as Henry, Janosh listened out for the horse's neighing.
Adder swiftly got off the horse's back and proudly presented the stolen mare. Janosh laughed and Henry wasn’t sure what made the man more happy - a sight of a beautiful horse or Adder being safe and sound. Or maybe it was connected to each other in a way he simply had no idea.
The loud, warm sound of Janosh’s laugh made Adder grin even more. Hynek on the other hand didn’t hide his annoyance.
“WHEN I WILL GET A FUCKING HORSE YOU BASTARD?!” he folded his arms across his chest like an offended child. An overgrown and capable of murder without blinking an eye. It was so un-noble and comically grotesque, Henry needed to cough into hand to cover up his laughter.
Adder made a lewd motion with his loins and Dry Devil’s face immediately turned red with anger. Or Henry hoped it was anger and not something else.
“Janosh does not think Hynek means that horse, Adder!” Janosh laughed, while grabbing the black mane in his hand and getting on the horseback with the same easiness as the crazy Pole. “Though Hynek should knows better than asks for fucking horse from Adder!
Adder laughed too and to make a point, he cheekily smacked Hynek’s ass exactly where the man got injured not so long ago as he walked to the table and left there alcohol. Devil made a weird noise, one Henry couldn’t tell if it was an angry curse, a muffled cry of pain or some inappropriate happiness and he really really didn’t want to know it for sure either way.
Dry Devil was already a fucked up weirdo that Henry couldn’t figure out. Zizka and Katherine and even lord Pisek and the all noblemen and common people living in Suchdol, they all warned him about Hynek. What an angry, mad dog he was, one you did not fuck up with, at least if you valued your life. But then none of his men even seemed bothered by Hynek’s dirty mouth and angry growling whenever he didn’t like something or someone. Maybe Janosh, Adder and Kybyenka were simply so used to Devil’s difficult behavior that it no longer impressed them. Maybe the man barked more than he bit. Maybe the Dry Devil was as bastardly and evil as everyone said, but he had an odd soft spot for the few men that decided to stay with him and still serve under his command.
Henry had no idea what he should think about Hynek. Everything seemed lately so messed up, so confusing.
In one gulp Adder emptied Dry Devil’s mug and sat on the table with legs resting on the wooden bench. Hynek took place next to him, so close their shoulders touched each other. Henry sat at the other side of the Pole, close enough but not too close.
Together, they all watched how Janosh was testing the newly acquired mare. The ease with Janosh got on horse and rode on bare horseback amazed Henry. With Adder, it somehow made sense as there was always something wild about the man. But Janosh was much, well, not really fat, but definitely thicker than Adder and their other companions. And yet it seemed like he was born in the saddle. Janosh’s loud, happy laugh floated in the air as if the world had stopped for a moment and nothing bad could happen that evening.
“I didn’t joke, ya know? I want a horse too!” Henry heard Devil’s low growl from the other side and though he did not understand what Adder barked back, he was pretty sure the Pole would soon disappear again.
