Baby Amran Abdi Iman, once underweight, turned one year old 6 weeks ago,as she finally became healthy. She was born prematurely weighing only one kilogram and was incubated right away at the @kenyaredcross_dadaab Ifo 2 hospital in Dadaab. A month later, she was discharged after gaining 0.8 kgs. Her mother was however advised to exclusively breastfeed her while at home so that the baby can keep on becoming healthier. The mother would also bring the child once a week to the health facility for check up. Within six months of exclusive breastfeeding and close monitoring,baby Amran gained 6.5 kgs.
